That's kinda what I was thinking too... I am wondering what would happen if the OP took the time to create his own product (not necessarily physical) and just prmote it super hard. Clearly he knows what he's doing, but if you own the product, you control everything.

So basically OP, you're on an SEO website saying that you don't want to go down the road of SEO again :)

On a more serious tone now :
    1. Why didn't you go with other affiliate networks? Some pay higher rates
    2. Did you go in growth mode? Like in 9 years how many money sites did you launch? How big did you PBN become?
    3. You stated that you started in 2008. To what extend have you diversified your source of income? As an SEO-budding entrepreneur, you definitetly need to throw in income source that do not rely solely on the SERP.
I'm speaking for myself as well. Just relying on google and affiliate networks to make a living is too scary. But luckily, BHW is plenty of good ideas of things to do!

Now I understand why you're here, to complain and find comfort in the minds of others who are not succeeding.
Another guy saying "Seo is death, the world sucks" etc... Unsubscribed from this no-sense thread

its more a seo problem than a amazon ... even if the commissions are not real high there but at least it is selling.

the seo is the main problem right now that all we marketer have. we don't have organic growing pages which get promoted naturally ... so if you don't work for it you will land in the desert.

    thats the main problem.

Arganrecords, just seen someone posted in you legendary Amazon affiliate thread, since I'm subbed. Asked myself if you've been active and looked at your latest posts to see you posting in this thread.

I couldn't agree with your post more Argan. We all look for nice warm ears to agree with our decisions.

I'm a SEO baby compared to the OP. 2008?? Geez. Gotta roll with the punches.
    Good luck OP.

it was relly good a few years back.
    like 7% for electronics.
and their pump on % once you reached like 200 sales..
Like stated, I made like 2x the money that thay with like 1/4 of the content that's out their.
and NO, this income drop is NOT related to competition, bu to amzn lowering their commisisions.
it's not interesting anymore, to keep pumping liks and money into sites for that small change and NO recurring customers, recommendations.

Working with Amazon is like feeding the monster in the corner that will eventually become large enough to eat you alive. It's easy to get lead on with "just enough" profit to keep you chasing the dream... but the system is made for AMAZON to get rich easily, not you. Worse yet, all these people chasing the Amazon dream have been building Amazon up with free SEO and advertising until Amazon now dominates the SERPS and must be dealt with anytime you try to rank virtually ANY keyword.

We've literally created a monster. If people were smart they would all just stop and switch to dropshipping, and let Amazon rot.

    well, the next issue:

tho all affiliate niches have a fuckton of competitoin, some like ^n as ecommerce sites, I cant put them anywhere in my resume. Employers just DONT get it. dont ask me..
You can have ONE SEO client with some shiny responsive wordpress site + shop with sells used toiletpaper - but if you rank some affiiliate site page 1 with ecommerce all around it, it doesnt work.

Trust me. I been there. I test everything I can think of.

Great read and i'm in a similar boat, although i've only done this for 2 years.

If their lowered commissions weren't bad enough, Amazon's tracking seems to be off this month. Time to look for new merchants to promote, for me at least.

@darulez, some of the guys tried to help you, but you're attitude is the same: most angry bhw user . Are you related to mickeyfu somehow?

I think you really need the 9-5 job for a few months, for several reasons. And I'm not joking. You will discover yourself the answers later; anyway you trust only yourself and your own experience.

Working for low commissions or Adsense is the same shit. Get over it.

Yeah 25k to start an llc? where did you hear this, from your friend? Lol
seems to me you made that money and didn't invest it into an llc so you can actually grow or get bought out, instead let everything burn while saying this is fine.
I agree aff sites aren't really a business in itself, but create a business and suddenly that hosting, domain, and content are all considered assets, trademarks, that can be sold.

just lend yourself a camera. write reviews and shoot videos of all the crap and items you bought in all your life.
even if 10% of your video are successfull, you can get close to making a living.
