Hey guys, so I have around $378 dollars to invest into internet marketing. So far I have made around $18 through textbroker, (they haven't review my 5 articles I wrote yet so I have to wait) so if I fail with my $387 I will always have backup money from there.

What would be wise to invest in? Any tips on how to spend this correctly? I haven't set up any websites yet so i'm leaning towards it.

    -Regards, Em.

how did you make the $$$? could you try to scale whatever you did??

$380 is more then enough to get at least 2 or 3 quality sites up and running if you want to start doing affiliate/adsense stuff.

    (1)Find a niche
(2)build a simple wordpress site on an exact match domain
(3)take some time and build some web 2.0 properties ( blogs )
(4)find some highly rated services on BHW and build backlinks to the blogs.
(5)Place google ads and/or CPA offers.
(6)Watch your search engine rankings increase and traffic grow.
    (7)Earn $$$$.
    (8)Rinse and Repeat

I've read here a lot, but I am still unclear of what web 2.0 stuff is, i'm guessing it's like free blogs? But yeah this is pretty simple and i'm going to do some Keyword research soon.

As for everyone asking, I made the $378 through hard work. I worked at Cold Stone Creamery for a while, so I had saved some money for the future.

So you have no idea how to make money online? Listen in my opinion when it comes to working online skills>investment! Having them both is the key!
You won't get far with $300 just buy yourself something nice for the hard work you did.

Yes I understand this. I have read up on multiple methods and I will review them before I try anything.

    Blackhat / High-risk / High-reward:
Invest in some domains and get a domain parking account, than run a domain parking JV with someone on these boards...with the right partner you can make $1k+ per day...chance of being banned though and not making anything.

    Whitehat / Long-term :
Build some micro niche adsense blogs and build it up over the next few months.

I'd rather go with the white hat idea first, I would be so amazingly happy if I could even make $20 a day.

$20 is definitely not an impossible feat. Read up some methods here on the forum (don't read too much though, you'll get sucked in and never get to work!) or check out the link in my signature for some too.

If you're going to take this serious, create a schedule...let's say you get up at 8AM...eat a nice breakfast, maybe do some forum browsing / research and then start work at 9AM. Work from 9AM-Noon, then eat a nice lunch. Maybe go for a walk/jog (if you exercise at all.)

After that if you're comfortable with the work you did for the day, enjoy the rest of the day! If not, work for another 3 hours...rinse repeat.

The goal is to keep to your schedule...being a gamer, when I first started "working from home" I ran into the issue of waking up, checking emails/etc., starting something, then after an hour "breaking" to play some video games...later that night I'd go "Oh well I can just do it tomorrow!" but it was a never ending cycle.

Breaking that cycle is the best thing I ever did. The thing about IM, is no matter what someone tells you, it's not the hardest thing in their world. There are plenty of avenues out there. It just takes some time to do the actual work. Even with basic / general skills if you work the same number of hours you did at Cold Stone Creamery, or retail, or anything, you will most likely make more per hour than you did there. Once you build your business you will look back at that and ask yourself how people are alright with working minimum wage when with a little bit of knowledge and dedication you make much more.

    Just my $0.02, good luck!

Thank you very much, that was very insightful. I am happy to say I am the exact same way. yet I have not broken the cycle yet. Though I will! I am determined to get this running so I can travel to every single country. (Except North Korea) But yeah. Thank you very much.

I most likely will be making a journal because I feel it's the least I can do for this community that has helped me out so much.

If the key issue is getting places faster using that $378, buy 10 $35 EMD microniche sites. Use several vendors in the BST section who offer sites in that range. Those sites will already have the optimal domain, SEO'ed articles and/or initial backlinks, WP set-up, et al to launch your passive IM to the income efforts. You just add to the articles and linking with your own efforts, or buy some Fiverr gigs to get some chaep traffic building done.

Assuming the main keyword has 2000+ exact monthly searches, the adsense CPC of the keyword to the site is at least at $1, and the ranking is 1-3 on the first page of the search engines, the earnings projection conservatively could be:

2000 (EGMS) X 20% (CTR of 1-3 first page ranking) X 1.5% (CTR on site) X $1 (CPC) = $6/month income per each site keyword. Times 10 similar sites, equals $60 a month.

That's just for adsense. If the niches you use match physical or digital products, it can also accomodate affiliate sales from 1 or 2 other directions as well.

Everything is about scaling upwards. There are people who will never succeed at IM or pretty much life in general because of their attitude. Also, the ability to take calculated risks is necessary in our field.

That being said, it seems you have the right mindset to truly succeed. Having multiple income streams is what is truly important. Some people will tell you to pick 1 thing and stick to it. While that may be good advice for some, I do things differently.

Currently I have 5 income streams. My "real" job at a large technology company, IM/SEO and domain flipping, occasionally writing on a popular comedy blog, Reputation management(which I got into because of the great guides posted on here). I also just started at Zeek Rewards, and we will see how that goes. Also, you could count number 6 as poker, since I play every other weekend at tournaments in the city.

The point is you can focus on all these little details, worry about the what ifs, and never really accomplish much. On the other hand, you can jump in and see what happens. Take some risks. That $378 is profit, by no means am I saying use it all. However, be smart and put some of it to different things. Who knows what could happen?
