okay I earned about 1700USD this year from youtube(adsense). from Jan to July. adsense account is under my name and my SSN. but the payment option I've added my cousin's payoneer bank account. he does not live in US. we didn't think much of it. monthly earning from adsense was like 100-200 per month.only last month it made something big.which was about 760USD. so total earning for this year is about 1700USD

I'm still studying and work partime. from parttime I get about 800usd per month. and my dad fill out my tax reports. and this week he is going to fill them.

My question is do I have to inform him and do we have to report the 1700USD we made from youtube? Do I have to pay tax for that money? eventho the payment goes to my cousin.(but still the account is under my ssn)

also mind that I won't be using this adsense again. youtube channel will be linked to my friend's adsense. So I won't be getting anymore money from it

if u make under 10k on side a year you don't have to claim nothing and no one have to report you also, unless you win a lottery for those all over 1k$ taxable

I'm pretty sure yearly earnings less than 5k can be classified as a hobby and no need to report

you mean if youtube yearly earning is less than 5K? because if added up my part time job earning+this 1700$ then it's well above 5K. but im already reporting my earning from the part time job.
So just need to know do I need to put this 1700USD as youtube/adsense earning to the tax report. Thanks everyone

You still have to report it even if you might not get taxed on it.

Lol. Where the hell are you guys from? Not claiming 5k income?

To my understanding, anything over $600 a year needs to be claimed.
