    Hey guys

I own 2 windows laptops, but I really want to get myself a MacBook in the future (depending if I can find a reasonable priced one). Which do you prefer Mac or a Windows? Also I've never owned a mac so would it be easy to adjust to this new OS and is there a version like Microsoft Word in a mac?

    Thanks

There's no a reasonable price on MacBooks. Expensive as hell, a $1000 Facebook machine. Good looking, perfect for coffe shops. A. K. A I have more money than you.

I had the same question as you a few weeks ago when I was looking for a new laptop. After some testing and research I came to the conclusion, I'm to retarded to change to Mac after all this years with windows.

I pretty much only use windows on my macbook air. If you really have your heart set on an Apple, then just bootcamp it and enjoy!

It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish in the long run.

Are you into graphic design, long hours on battery, desire for smoothness and efficiency in your workflow?

Do the research and think about what it is you hope to accomplish in the long run; I switched from Windows 2 years ago to Mac and trust me, to me it's a huge difference in function as well as the quality of apps too.

It is personal choice, but may help if you could let people know what you would use it for. I was a Windows user since the early days of Windows 3.1 and I changed to a Mac about 4 years ago and have never looked back. I used to go through a high end Windows laptop about once a year, and when I switched my first Mac lasted 4 years so on the whole worked out a hell of a lot cheaper, and only now am I on my second Mac.
I nearly bought a Windows laptop last week, but as I do about 90% design work 10% Windows programs the Mac with Virtualbox installed just seemed a better choice, especially as I personally found Windows 10 a bit to junked up. If you are going to run a lot of software that you discovered here the Windows machine may be better as most software connected with this industry is Windows based.

Windows laptops have a way lower quality, I need to buy one every 1-2 years because case breaks down or something always happens. If you plan to actually travel with your laptop, I'm sure that Mac will last way longer and it may be cheaper in the long run. Quality Windows laptop costs a lot too, so if you count everything Mac may be more expensive but not that much more expensive in the long run. Now, this is hardware, when it comes to the software I guess it's all personal preference and it depends on what you need.

Only some windows laptops have lower build quality, there are so many windows laptops out there with superior specs and build quality for the same price as a macbook.

It does not really matter. If you are doing any SEO at all, then you will be running Windows. Because of the dearth of SEO programs that run in anything but windows, you will run Windows; the only question will be whether you run Windows in a virtual machine or in Bootcamp.

Since you will be running Windows, why bother with something that you have to tinker with to run Windows, just get a Windows machine.

For the guy that complained that he replaced a high end windows machine yearly: I just retired a 2004 low end Windows machine from E-Machines. The hard drive died when Windows ten attempted a sneak install and I interrupted it. So much for having to replace a machine a year.
