I like Authority Azon (http://www.authorityazon.com) a lot. It's light, responsive and converts well. I don't have any site in mind that I would model after. In my opinion, most of the Amazon affiliate sites are terribly built and they all look the same, with the same rehearsed content and products over and over again. If you build something original that brings REAL value to your users, you will end up on top of everyone (but it will take some time). Actually, I made over $600 last month. A company paid me $200 to have two of their product reviewed and featured. I also made $70 from Adsense and $45 from an affiliate sale. I just decided to stick with Amazon's revenue since the rest of the earnings (except Adsense) were kind of one-time deals.
