This isn't a newbie journey. I already have five sites which are ranking well and bringing me a decent revenue each month. However, I plan to keep those niche sites while this one is meant to be flipped once my goal is reached.

    My Goal:

My goal for this journey is to flip this site for $10k in 8 months. This means that I need to average at least $500 for three straight months and have decent earnings for five months to be able to flip for 20x the monthly revenue.

    My Budget:

My budget for this journey is $500. I may end up spending more, but I really doubt it.

What tools do I already have?

I already have a few tools (mostly are paid):

Serpbook - Paid tool: This is one of the greatest tool ever made. It allows you to track your SERP on a daily/hourly basis. In my opinion, it's a must of you want to succeed/track your rankings. Here's a link if you want to give it a try (affiliate link) (non-affiliate link)

Keyword Revealer - Paid tool: One of the best tool to check keyword competition/monthly search. There's a free version (3 free searches per day), but I use the paid one (25 searches per day). I highly suggest to manually check the keyword competition as well. Here's a link, give it a try! (non-affiliate link)

Google Keyword Planner - Free: Great tool and it's free! I use it to find new keywords. Once I find a "potential" niche, I immediately go to Keyword Revealer to check the competition. It's also a great tool to find additional keywords related to your niche. (link)

Ahrefs - Paid: There's also a free version to ahrefs but it's very limited. I use ahrefs to check my competitor's backlink and which keyword(s) they are targeting. It's also a good way to find which keywords your competition are trying to rank. (non-affiliate link)

Grammarly Premium - Paid: Overall, a great tool. The only reason why I use it is that I was born in a French community near Montreal, Canada. English is my second language, and Grammarly helps me quite a lot with my grammar. (non-affiliate link)

What Have I done so Far?

    Keyword:

I found a decent buying keyword with a good amount of monthly search (2.8k US with variants) and a product priced between $150-$250:

It's a pretty weak top 10 with three poorly made affiliate site (6-7-8). I think it's going to be pretty easy to get to #2. #1 might be a bit harder to outrank but nothing impossible.

    Domain:

I found an expired domain, first registered in 2009 with a clean history in the same niche/topic as my keyword. Luckily, it also has a brandable name and a few decent links pointing to my homepage.

    Hosting:

I also bought a cheap hosting to start with this domain. Nothing too fancy until I have a good amount of visits.

    Content:

I already have two writers writing full time for me. Together, they have written more than 500 buying guides and over 1000 product reviews. In my opinion, they are the best at what they do. I had one of them write a pillar article for my homepage which includes a buying guide and seven products totaling 2800 words.

We are already working on the single product reviews which will be siloed from the homepage.

    Rankings:

I had my main keyword show at #79 a few minutes after I indexed my home page. It disappeared a few hours later.

Things To do in the Coming Days:

    - Finish the single product reviews and post them.
    - Buy a Press Release to my Homepage. I would like to add a couple branded anchor to my link profile as well as a bit of authority.

    Update:

I bought a press release to my homepage this morning targeting naked and branded URL. By the time the PR is written and submitted, most of my single product review will be written and published.

I also registered three accounts on three different forums related to my niche, I also commented on a few random posts. These three accounts will be useful in a month or two to get targeted traffic and generic/branded links back to my website.

I've got a question about the keyword revealer screenshot.
    What is the graph for?

Whenever I search for my own keywords and they have 3,000 monthly searches, the graph shows really small numbers for each day like 29 etc.

Is that the amount of people who searched the keyword?

    Thanks guys!

To be honest, I never really understood what the graph was for. It is not related to competition; that is a fact. KR doesn't even mention it on their blog post (How to use their own tool). I sent them an email regarding this. http://www.keywordrevealer.com/blog/keyword-tool-getting-started/

    UPDATE:

Earlier today on forum #1, I reached the minimum post count to unlock the signature and link. Even though most of forum's link are no-followed, it is still a great way to add some authority to your site, diversify your link profile and add some relevancy. Who knows, you might get a sale or two as well. As far as anchor text, I use my keyword + domain name. Let's say that my keyword is "Best Red Car" and my domain name is "domain.com", my anchor should read like:

    Best Red Car | Domain.com

You can also add a CTA: What is the best red car? My take on it: Best Red Car | Domain.com

This should give you a link from each and every post you make.

    Surprise, Surprise.

I added my site on GWT a couple of days ago. G updated the "Links to your sit." for the fist time today. They picked a couple of strong links which Ahrefs and Majestic missed. I believe they came from manual outreach to other blogs in my niche.

G also picked a few links from Ezine, Articlebase and a few other sites. The good? They are all relevant to my niche & well written. The bad? They all have the same anchor which would be the keyword minus the "Best". I will need to dilute the anchor with branded and naked URLs in the near future.

I also added three articles today, all of them being product reviews.

    UPDATE:

All my individual product reviews are live. I also added an "about us" page as well as two other posts related to my keywords to establish relevancy.

I received my report for the Press Release. Three of my keywords showed on top 100 today.

I now have a total of 4 accounts on four different forums (niche related) which all have 50++ non-spammy posts. I will start linking back to my site from these accounts in the coming days. I also purchased one of Sarkar's seo package for diversification. I am hoping to get a big enough boost from these links to get my keywords in the top 20 within the next 30-35 days.

I think it's a possibility that I get the top spot for my main keywords in less than three months.
