    Hello!

I created a site 1-2 months ago in a very low competition niche. The site is nowhere to be seen, not even in the top 100! Usually these type of low comp keywords rank easily between #30 - #50 spot on google but somehow this one managed to ignore that.

Any advice? The kw difficulty on kwfinder is around 10/100, I did the comp analysis and it's indeed easy.
No backlinks made. Kw density is around 0.6%, content is unique, 3 posts already on the site.

    Content to thin.

My guess, Did you fire web 2.0 at the website?

I think content is alright since it's a relatively new site and the niche isn't too complicated / not much competition out there with good content. I have not sent any web 2.0s but it's weird, I mean, I have made sites before with more competition and they still rank in top 100 with just on page seo.

Check if your site came in google with "site:yourwebsite.com" . If your site is not there, that means your site isn't indexed. Then try to index it.

This probably isn't real helpful, but here goes anyway.

Since "Fred", and even a month or two before, indexing is slower, and new backlinks registering as having any worth seems a lot slower.

Everything seems slower, and everything seems more uncertain. People who use PBNs have been hit. People who never use PBNs have been hit. People say "too many ads, or too many affiliate links!" is the reason. But also people who have sites that have no ads, and aren't affiliate sites have been hit (I have a couple no ads/no affiliate link sites that were hit).

I think everything is harder. And I think there are a lot of unknowns for the reasons. I think the recent updates are "multi-faceted" - the algorithm hasn't just changed for only on-site or only off-site factors.

Very confusing, and I think that's what Google wants.

I think perhaps you're just caught up in the big algorithm changes that have been going on lately.

Occasionally, I will get sites that simply just do not want to rank. After a few months, they are still not in the top 100.

They use the same keyword research, content, and backlinking methods as the others. All the other sites created around the same time are on pages 1-3, but this site is not even in the top 100.

Could I keep throwing links and content at it to try and rank it? Sure. Do I think it is worth it? Definitely not.

At this point, I cut my losses on sites like these (although they aren't much since they are just small local sites).

This is why I always recommend to create multiple sites at a time when doing small niche sites. Some just don't want to rank.

For now, I would wait and see what the site does. It may just take longer. But it could be one of these sites that is just more difficult to rank.

I've experienced that myself in the past. Well before Fred and the other recent updates. I follow the same method - create a couple of sites right away, in the same niche, with the same purpose. If one doesn't rank, the other might. Even if you do things almost exactly the same with each site, one might rank, the other might not ever get moving.

I believe there is some at least small part of the Google algorithm that might be called "randomness" so that SEO guys can never figure out an exact, perfect plan to rank a site.

That's one theory and I've heard it mentioned before. It's a possibility but I'm not completely sold on it yet. If it is true, it seems like we would experience the randomness more. Also, it seems like the guys doing large authority sites don't run into this problem.

A lot of the small niche or local sites use the same methods, EMDs or PMDs and using PBNs. Maybe they are just getting hit by a silent penalty. Then that begs the question, why doesn't it happen more often?

What do you do with the content? Do you delete it and post it on the new site? I'm going to follow your advice on creating a new site since this one doesn't want to move his lazy ass in the rankings.

I don't feel like building links when a really low comp site doesn't even rank in top 100 with on page seo, seems like I'm going to waste money and it still won't rank.

What happened to patience, OP? Assuming your content is top notch you gotta wait for a bit and then start building quality links. If it's not a penalized domain that you're using, you'll be on your way to the coveted spots in about a couple months down the line.
