    Hey BHW!

Lately, a majority of my websites (I track 30) are stuck on pages 3-4. The rankings shot up from not found to about Pages 3-5 in October and have seemed to fluctuate up and down a little bit for the past 5 months.

    Here was my strategy -
    1. Select targeted keywords based on relevance and competition
    2. Onpage optimization via Titles, Meta descriptions, Heading tags, Alt image text if applicable, and having the keyword within the content.
    3. Send out a Prweb press release
    4. Create a Youtube video and top 5-6 social media profiles (Facebook, Pinterest, Google +, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram)
    5. Create 15-20 Authority Site links (Purevolume, Soundcloud, crunchbase, zimbio etc.)
    6. Create Local Citations (Yelp, City Search, Yellowpages etc.)
    7. Guest blog posts on PBNs
    8. Post relevant unique blog posts on my aged Web 2.0s

60% of anchors are website url or brand name. other 40% is mix of keywords and variations of the keywords with some generalized anchors.

I ordered tier 2 links for the Youtube video, authority site links and local citations to increase the page authority of those as well.

So far these strategy gets a lot of sites to that page 3-4 spot and then sits there even when I continue to create posts, blogs and social media mentions.

Any suggestions or tips would be very helpful. Let me know if I am missing something and I hope this thread helps others!

Are you tracking any if the the sites that are out ranking you for you nitche? What are you using to track? have you been able to get any long tail KW's to rank in the top 10? What about you local rankings?

Yes, by tracking are you referring to their rankings or looking at the competitions backlink profile and local citations? I check out my competitors backlinks and citations and they vary from each website so I can't really decide how to use that information.

I use MySEOtools.com to track my own rankings

I don't necessarily target or keep track of long tail KW's. I track 10-15 2-4 word targeted keywords

Seems like your strategy is OK, probably just not doing enough of it.

I would be careful about your PBN links - is it your own private PBN that you've built or a "private" blog network that's being whored out in BST?

Well, strategy seems fine -- How about your on page part? Site speed, interlinking etc.. are done perfectly?

I still believe everything goes back to relevance + 'PR' (link juice/trust/authority links). Not ranking where you want? Get more of both, simple.

    Strategy seems fine.

You just need more PBN or Paid Links.

For me the strategy is good. You just need a few PBN links with more power to kick it to the first page.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, good stuff!

@Andrewsherer this PBN is a private pbn not available to the public with topics/content that is relevant to businesses.

@SEOsperm I definitely do On-page optimization on the Titles, descriptions, Headings and alt image text for main sites. Not on the Tier 1 sites though which is actually a great idea! Also, I do need to interlink between pages because I don't do this much

@mansio I do about 8-10 posts into these PBNs and they receive about 2-3 posts every 3-4 months. So basically 2-3 posts will go up on the website and then after 3-4 months two more posts will get published.

@gyuman and @pankage Yes, I should add more PBns to my list but I got burnt out awhile back. I have purchased public PBN links but never saw good results and usually those "Permanent" links disappear after a couple months. Any recommendations on places to get quality links or continue to build my own?

Thanks for the feedback several good ideas!

For another strategy I just thought of this.

Has anyone had experience with creating a brand new website or sub-domain that posts on one topic related to your main sites keyword?

So lets say your money site is about Dog Training and instead of posting on a PBN that has a lot of articles all related to Business tips you create a sub-domain that is all about Dog Training with posts/links to your main site.

It would take longer to make the new sites have authority but the relevance could make up for that with time

I'd try registering an EMD with a different TLD and shoot up some sape links to these 301s. Fresh 301s work pretty good with sape, usually I see bumpings in ranks within 2-4 weeks.

Definitely interlink fairly heavily, yet appropriately. You will be surprised by how much it can affect rankings; with enough content and relevance, you can rank new posts/kw's just by pointing a few solid internal links, and is one of the reasons why I tend to go overboard on content with all my sites. With good internal linking, if one post ranks better, all your posts rank better & the effect over a long enough period time is massive.

Keep up with the authority parasite tiers; while I don't do it as much anymore, it can be very effective -- just make sure its from a site Google loves, SEMRush is good for analyzing this. A lot of PR sites that were doing well (PRnewswire, Businesswire) took a hit this month, so be wary. Definitely start to build your own private network if you're in it for the long-haul, once you have one you'll wonder how you ever did without. Best of luck

I was in the same exact position, all I did was wait (1-2 months) and now I am on that lovely first page.
