Questions are bold, white and underlined, so if you don't want to read it all, just answer one of the white-text, bold, underlined questions ;)

    Hey.

Well, first of all, I just got inspired by this guy who was setting up 300 small blogs, each one earning him ~3$ per day, which results in a lot of total money. I would be making a smaller amount of sites first, of course, to test and all. Also, I would be profiting only from adsense.

Anyways, I've thought about it, and all I really need is a blueprint. So I thought one up, but I have so many questions.. It would be very appreciated if I could get some answers from you guys, I'm sure you're not only helping me, but also lots of other people who browse the forums and get some questions answered from this topic. Also, please don't just tell me to "search bhw", because I do not know what to search for. Also, please don't just say "All you need is to take action and experiment", because I'm going to do that, but I prefer to have a good base of knowledge from you first, so I don't make too many mistakes.

Okay, so the blueprint consists of:

    1) Find a small niche that I can easily dominate
    2) Find keywords for the niche
    3) Buy a domain that relates to the main keyword
    4) Write four articles, one for each keyword I'm trying to rank for
    5) Put them on the website with WordPress, with a good adsense-based theme, of course
    6) Build backlinks
    7) Let the site sit there, after a few weeks it should hopefully bring in a dollar or two per day.

I have so many questions, though. "1) Find a small niche that I can easily dominate".. Getting the ideas for niches is not a problem. I already brainstormed and found a quick 50 completely different ones.. But my question is:
How do I know which niche to use? I know that for some niches, google adsense pays almost nothing per click.. So what factors determine which kind of niche I should be looking for / picking each time?

"2) Find keywords for the niche".. Do I just pick the keywords with low competition and high searches, and do it all manually, or is there a special program I should get? Am I over-complicating this step?

"4) Write four articles, one for each keyword I'm trying to rank for".. Are four articles enough? Is it a good number? How should I write the articles? I plan on writing them myself to start with, and outsourcing later. How do I write them in a SEO-Based way? Any topics I should check out about it?

"5) Put them on the website with WordPress, with a good adsense-based theme, of course".. I'm going to design my own WordPress theme that is good for adsense, but I'm not sure where to start.. Could anyone show me some good ones that are already made, and I could base my own on them? Any recommendations?

"6) Build backlinks".. Should I do this manually, or pay someone from BHW 10$ per site, for like 100 backlinks? Should I submit anything to ezinearticles and all those things, or just let someone else do it for some cash?

Any other tips or stuff I should read would really be appreciated. I know I'm asking way too many questions, but I really can't make myself do it when I'm wondering about so many things. Even if you only answer one question, that is VERY appreciated, too. :)

I just stumbled upon the Thesis theme.. Seeing as it can be customized a lot, should I use this?
Also, I heard that Google loves when you include an "About Me" and a "Contact" page on your site.. Should I be doing this? And if so, what should I put for the "about me" - Real information, or a fake person that seems to know what he/she's talking about in relation to the site?
Can anyone give some examples of what these two pages would look like?

For the contact page just install a contact page plugin like Contact Form 7.
For the about me page as long as it exists you can just keep it brief, usins sentences like "here atxyz.com we are passionate about "website subject", and have done our best to bring you information on "more website subject"

Thesis is an excellent theme and is seo friendly.

Thanks a lot for the answers. It's really appreciated. I guess I'll go with Thesis for now then..

Anyone else got answers to some of the other questions? :)

Hey cloaks, I am in the same boat as you. :) Payouts for different keywords has been a bone of contention for me too. That seriously makes you think about the whole "brainstorming" stuff too cause if something doesn't pay, how to come up with something which pays good.

Alright, on the question of picking niches, look for very narrow niches with lots of potential.

For example, if you pick "laptops", this niche is way saturated by people with a lot more experience than you or I. But if you know about, own one, or can read about a specific make and model of netbook, then "HP Mini" (or whatever specific model you choose) would be a better niche.

Think of the state of the world right now. What do people need, want, or think they need/want? The economy sucks, so people are looking for ideas about saving money, cutting bills, earning more. Some of them are stupid enough they are still looking for get rich quick schemes. We even have a few of that type walking among us here on bhw.

Americans are getting more obese every day thanks to our love of those super-sized cheeseburgers that are the size of your head and those 72 ounce big gulps of soda, and we're lazy sods, so weight loss, herbal supplements, exercise and shit like that is popular.

Those are just a couple random examples. Just look around and apply some psychology, then try to find a narrow niche that can fill that desire the masses have.

Greg, thanks a lot for the informative post, but that really isn't my problem.
I did a quick brainstorm yesterday, and came up with over 50 completely different niches. Thinking of new niches IS NOT my problem at all.

However, I need to know which ones of the 50 I should actually make a site for, since some of then will obviously give something like 0,015$ per click, and some will give 0.5$ish per click.. How do I determine this? That's really the question :)
Also, any other factors I should keep in mind? Just what people are interested in? Because that doesn't help me a lot.. Everyone's interested in something, after all.

Cloaks, I was just thinking about it and the it clicked.

Think of it this way, a $0.5 per click one will have more competition than ones with $0.015 per click, cause obviously no one wants a low paying keyword.

Or better look at this way:
A person looking for weight loss has a higher probability of clicking on as compared to a person looking for "ipod touch" (cause he can check out ebay / amazon for that , so not a biggie).

From what I am reading with so many blogs, it will be better to do blog farming and promoting a particular website niche with all those blogs and getting ranked better.

So you're saying that not only do the low keywords pay low, but they also get far less clicks? I don't think that's entirely true.. It depends a lot on the keyword, really.

Anyone else got an opinion on this? And btw, I still wonder where to find the price-per-click..

I think the price per click displays once you login to Adsense. I had an account but cant remember the email I used. :)

And what does exactly "low keyword" mean ?

I understood what you said as "The keywords that only pay low cash per click (0,015$ish) are also clicked a lot less than the 0,5$ ones".. Which I disagree with.

Anyone else got some answers? It really is appreciated.

Cloaks, it seems I wasn't clear enough. There were two different statements to help out with choosing a keyword:

    1. No one likes a low paying keyword. So, the amount of competition in high paying would be higher.

    2. Keywords like weight loss or medical procedures etc are not available on sale on ebay/amazon and have a higher CTR as compared to keywords like iphone/nexus one.

Ohh.. I'm sorry, I misunderstood you.
I'd rather go with the low-competition keywords for now, though.. I feel there's way too much competition with the hard ones like "weight loss" and such. But what you said seems right, I'll keep that in mind.

All my questions haven't been answered yet, though ;)
The ones I really need answered before I can start are:

Do I just pick the keywords with low competition and high searches, and do it all manually, or is there a special program I should get?

How do I write them (the articles) in a SEO-Based way? Any topics I should check out about it?

Build backlinks".. Should I do this manually, or pay someone from BHW 10$ per site, for like 100 backlinks? Should I submit anything to ezinearticles and all those things, or just let someone else do it for some cash?

*You would normally look at adwords if the affiliate product your blog is promoting itsn't converting enough to make you $$$. The work is similar (backlinks etc) but the payoff is bigger.

Also decide whether you are a marketer...or a software/theme designer, otherwise you are sucking up time on something that won't make any difference in terms of $. Just upload a template like most others and you are sweet. Make sure you search for a SEO friendly theme in the codex since some are good....and others really crappy.

Cost per click is determined by going to google keyword tool external. Just G it to find the page. Once you get a list of keywords you go to "choose columns to be displayed" and select average price per click. Some lovely being uploaded a list of the higher paying keywords to BHW in the downloads section around Janurary of this year. Suggest you check them out.

    Good luck

Thanks a lot! That actually greatly helped me. I'll still improve my template a little, though. It's going to be the same one for all my sites, and if some changes means a difference of 5% ctr then it's going to pay off A LOT in the long run.
All I need answered would be this:
Should I use any program for keyword research, or just use Google's keyword tool?
Should I manually build backlinks for each site, or pay 10$ish for some social bookmarks instead? Would that do for small sites?

I created a thread about autblogging but with a twist - you don't need keyword research, you don't need to build backlinks (or worry about them) and you're website will still get ranked very well, very fast.

My autoblogs are a couple of months old and some have a Google PR3

Here's a link to the thread in case you're interested

I'll consider using Twitter as an additional traffic source.
Does anyone else have answers to the unanswered questions?
