I do pretty good at SEO and know a lot but never really tried with a lot of backlinks from the same source. I diversify my links from all over but I have setup a method to get easy backlinks everday but there from the same places. There quality sites but is it going to help much with links from the same places all the time? Don't really want to waste my time if it's not helping much. I know they get less and less value as you keep getting them. So I guess my question is has anyone tested this or use it and it helps?

Link diversity is the key to good rankings in my opinion !

A handful of backlinks from the same site is ok. I assume there is a threshold where more than x backlinks from a single domain stop counting.

I don't worry if I do get multiple backlinks from the same website, however I don't purposely do it.

So the answer is, in my opinion, use unique domains.

Diversify your links as well as anchor texts. That will ensure that there will not be any drops in SERP.

I experimented with this by doing multiple AMR blasts to the same url. Didn;t really a do anything.

Also I used to post on a forum with my anchor text (the forum was pr2 I think and very context relevant). I would post on that thing nearly every day and had like 1000 backlinks form there...yea, again, didn't really do much.

This is why it baffles me that people talk about doing DAILY senuke blasts to the same web2.0s. What's the point? I doubt they have splittested the effects and just thinks more = better! while doing other linkbuilding not analyzing whether that particular thing is helping them- aka false attribution.

I'm actually testing this hypothesis myself right now just to check as I haven;t done it with web2.0s but I imagine it'll be the same as my other multi-link experiments.

In my experience: Multiple links from one domain but from different urls helps. Multiple links from same url doesn't help.
