    yo.

    I made a decent 27-spoke linkwheel yesterday.
Today I've dropped from 2 to 100 in serps.

All sites had completely different and unique articles.

I massively pinged all sites then made a large rss feed off them, which I submitted to 5-10 rss directories. I also wrote an article that I posted on ping.fm that linked to the RSS.

    Did I do something wrong?
Do you guys think this drop is temporary and I'll come back strong in serps?

Did you create a closed or open linkwheel?

See where you are at in a couple of days to a couple of weeks but still continue link building from safe types of sites like article sites. When ever I do a large link wheel my take a dance and almost come back stronger.

    Oh ok! :)
    Why should linkwheels be open?

You didn't "Lose" your rankings permanently. It's called Google Dance, and it simply means it can take up to 5 days for Google to recognize your rankings, and give you the appropriate position based on the new links, etc.

Hey Satyeran, so what is the latest updates... was it a normal google dance and is it back to normal?...If not to no 1, did it gain position 2, what it was earlier.

Would like to know the effect of closed link wheel. I used to make closed one earlier and I had a good success but from recent 2-3 months, I only make open one,,, but even open one does a google dance and it comes back for good...

Now I am again considering closed for one of my website, so would like to know how it worked

Google Dance is a reference to when the unique Google search servers each display different rankings for the same query.

I've heard Google dance referred to for several things. But hey.

    Link wheel to fast. Wallop
    Closed wheel Wallop
No content on wheel sites Wallop
Duplicate content on link sites Wallop

Treat them all as if they were main sites, post several times a week. Link to authority sites from the spokes (credibility)

Get hi ranking links to your wheel from outside. Treat each spoke as a project

I find wheels work best on sites about a year old - or older. They tend to be total ass on a site under three months old.

Ranking will probably come back. End of the day look at some of the shitty sites that hold top spot for some fab keywords.

I mean locally the phrase "Search Engine Optimization" has a site called deeho after wiki in second place in google - and I could have built it an a short afternoon. It's got some decent links to it, but it dominates becasue of a link wheel and some postings. Check it for yourself

And "search engine optimization" is a damn competitive niche, A top 5 hard nut to crack. This site is number 2 google.

So rather than ask question here, check it out. Use scrapebox or whatever tools to check it's ranking, links and age. It will teach you more about SEO than most things you read.

A simple 9 spoke linkwheel (by the looks of it) dominates a phrase like that.

You should link the wheel SLOWLY!! on a random fashion to make it look natural. Moreover, you should build some good WEB 2.0 with enought content and find quality links for those properties.
