Hey everyone,

Recently I made a mistake with one of my PPC campaigns and wanted to get some advice.
From the beginning, the campaign wasn’t doing that well. I was getting clicks, but conversions were very low and costs kept increasing. I kind of felt the campaign wasn’t working, but I kept thinking maybe it just needed more time or more data to optimize.
So I let it run for another week hoping things would improve, but they never did. Ended up losing more money than I expected. Looking back, I feel like I should have stopped it earlier.

How do you guys decide when a campaign is not worth continuing? Do you wait for more data or stop it quickly if results look bad? Would love some suggestions.

dont wait for long time if u dont see conversions in 3 days just kill the campaign or change targetting, no point wasting money.

in some cases its take more than a week so no point to kill the campaign and waste own effort its better to wait

Turn off the campaign if it spends three times your target cost-per-conversion without getting a single lead.

If the first week gets you zero results useless to keep it live. You'll have learnt that sadly

i set a hard rule before launching: if campaign spends 2x target cpa with zero conversions its paused, no exceptions. removes all the emotion from the decision. the "maybe it needs more time" thinking is how you turn a $100 test into a $400 loss, been there

I prioritize data over emotion. If costs continue to rise while conversion rates don't improve after gathering enough data, I'll stop the campaign to reassess everything.

Bro always set clear cut off before launch like max budget and target CPA, if it not hitting numbers after enough clicks just pause and fix, dont wait with hope.

damn hidden costs hurt bro, i usually kill it if it spends 2-3x the payout of the offer without a single conversion, dont wait for data if the trend is already bad.

you should stop earlier if you don't get conversation in 48 hours make that the primary rule for compaigns
true 48h rule saves a lot of budget but sometimes offer pixels take time to postback, though for tight budgets early cut is always better

then you need to start with low bid to see the cpc if you are satisfied then increase according to that what you think?
yeah starting low is smart for testing CPC but sometimes low bids only get trash traffic, so u gotta find that sweet spot between cheap and quality clicks.

Using filters in ads will help you more to get good traffic in many ways What filters do you using?
i mostly filter out data center IPs and old android OS versions straight away cuz they bring 90% of the bot clicks anyway.

For me, it is all about the click volume rather than time. If I hit 100–200 clicks with zero conversions, it is a clear sign to pause and fix the landing page.

I usually set clear KPI limits before scaling, so if a campaign consistently misses CPA or conversion targets after enough data, I pause it early instead of waiting too long. Small tests are fine, but if the core numbers are not improving, it is better to cut losses and restart with new angles or targeting.

It should not be an issue. You should use the experience to better your campaigns in future.

I am completely agree with this. You need a strict cut-off point. Waiting too long just because of sunk cost fallacy is how budgets get ruined. If the trend is bad from day one, pull the plug.

yeh normal, we all do it best way is set a small test budget first, check conversions fast. if after few days/week results r bad, stop it, dont wait too long hoping for magic. learn from it & move on, small tests save big money.

Totally understand how you feelings...I usually give a campaign a few days to get some data, but if conversions are consistently low and costs are climbing, I cut it sooner rather than later. Sometimes waiting for ‘more data’ just ends up burning budget. Setting clear KPIs and a max loss threshold before launching really helps decide when to pull the plug
