    Hello,

So the Penguin has stricken me. But not that bad; I have not been wiped off Google.

All my keywords lost a lot of rankings, moving from page 1 - 2 to pages 4-5.

I used a little bit of SENuke so that's why I guess I got marked as spammy.

Do you think I can recover? What should I do? Disavow? Build legit content? OR what?!

    Thanks!

I wouldn't suggest disavow, it's waste of time. You can just wait or buy a new domain, grab your content and start all over.

I can't buy a new domain really, it isn't an option now. I just want to know, is it recoverable?

From what I hear probably not until the next update.

I sincerely doubt it but I hope so.

It could be but you might have to wait until next Penguin.

Disavow the backlinks. Not sure if that's going to help but you have nothing to lose if you give it a try. If the website is important to you, disavow the bad links, build better links, add more content, and wait for the next penguin update/refresh. Otherwise, start over with a new domain.

For minor drops like you are experiencing it is more likely just a shuffle of websites as opposed to a website that has completely dropped off.

I do anticipate if you experienced only minor drops that with additional work you should be able to recover even before the next refresh (just a theory yet though)

I could be wrong, but I would be willing to bet that is the case. It is still too early to tell though.

I feel like a broken record here. The same nonsense about the disavow tool is being provided as a recovery method and no one realizes the disavow tool is what is to blame for ranking drops with penguin.

The disavow tool was created to help Google have an easier time with updates. Why waste their time or resources tracking down crappy link sources when they can have people do it for them for free? All those links people have been disavowing the past year are why your rankings dropped. Do not use the disavow tool.

The great news is that you can recover from penguin, as I was able to with this latest update on my sites affected by penguin last year. The bad news is you won't be able to until the next refresh. Supposedly Google is working on refreshing penguin more often so I'd expect to see another refresh near the beginning of 2015.

The only way to recover your rankings from penguin is to clean up those crappy senuke links (and any other links that may exist from previous old-school SEO). There are services that can help you do that. I used one for my link cleanup which is why I was able to recover.

You won't read any success stories about using the disavow and recovering from penguin. I tried that on one site as a test and it's ranking even worse than the first penguin update.

I realized that the pages I built SENuke for are the ones who got removed only. Should I create new pages instead and build links for them?
