Looking to sell an eBook. Anything I should know?

So I "wrote" my first eBook. Basically downloaded a bunch of free eBooks from a PLR site picked a good one and did some editing (took out some stuff, added some stuff) to make it better IMO.

getting ready to put it online to sell it but want to make sure im not doing anything wrong.

anything I should becareful about so I dont end up in hot water? Also I'll be using paypal as the primary form of payment.

You should be fine as long as the ebooks you downloaded included reselling rights.

What site are you using to sell the ebook?

If its ebay, I suggest delivering the ebook digitally via a file sharing site. If you need more info on this just send me a pm and ilk inform you ;P
 
To start out, list it on DP and WSO. If you generate enough interest and have gotten enough testimonials, create a sales page and list it on Clickbank. This way you will have people promoting your product for you.

however I don't have the right to edit it from what I just read. I only changed about 10% of it total I would say (made it more niche related).

I was just going to put together a quick splash page and sell it through a link from one of my existing sites.

I guess I'm only worried about getting in trouble for editing it but what are the realistic chances that I could get burned form this? this ebook is nothing revolutionary just a niche dating guide.

If you have master resale rights and the niche is that popular you shouldn't have problems. How well did you rewrite? Is everything mostly rewritten?

I just added some tips here and there related to the niche. still working on it (may add a little more)

I changed the title of it and made graphic changes to the cover too...thats about it.

Overall I doubt I will get in trouble but just wanted to double check here to make sure I dont overlook something that could get me in trouble....
 
Put simply:

PLR/Private Label Rights - Allows you to rewrite the whole text (or none of it) and claim it as your own and sell it.

MRR/Master Resell Rights - Allows you to rewrite none of the text however you may sell it (not as your own) and sell resell rights for it.

RR/Resell Rights - Allows you to resell the product (you can't claim it was yours or change any of the content) however not the resell rights.

What's the worst that could happen if the original author comes across it and says "what the fuck!?!"

or better yet what are the chances that the author will come across it and know I got MRR and not PLR?.....

Well if he never sold the PLR then he would know that you only got MRR.

I'm gonna go with the chances are pretty slim....I mean you know how many people write ebooks and sell ebooks an buy ebooks. Im just saying.

I'm not an expert here though so....

thats just it...I can get the PLR from the site by signing up with a paid membership. Its a bulk PLR site....

Dont want to sign up for one ebook....not looking to do ebook marketing just need this one book for my site.

Not trying to rob anybody just dont want a pay membership for one freakin book........
 
Oh i see. ok then it is very veyr unlikely you will get in trouble/the author will even notice
