    LoungeEmpire,

There are a variety of ways you could go about doing this and strategies will vary from Twitter to Facebook.

For Twitter, you can just start following people that are in the same or complementary niche that you are promoting. Many people will follow-back. You could also do a promotion that incorporates people following you in exchange for something else. For instance entry into a contest to win something that has broad appeal by following your account or retweeting something that you tweeted about. After you have started to build a following, make sure you keep up on tweeting informative or otherwise useful content. You want to get people that have large numbers of followers to retweet what you post and that way more people will follow you.

For facebook you can take a similar approach however there are some other neat tactics that allow you to gain fans. Note that if you have a company page set up, the relationship you have with the people following the account is a fan relationship and not a friend. Friend relationships only apply to personal account pages. A good way to get people to like your page is to fangate it. This means offering some type of free content in exchange for liking the page. There are a variety of app development companies that offer fangating features. North Social is a good one.
