    OK, here it is.........................

I joined this forum to learn a new thing and as you can guess, I have indeed learned a lot but am yet a bit uncertain as to which way to go.

There is an field in which I am an expert (Not patting myself on the back; just stating a fact!). No, I'm not going to tell you what that field is! ;)

Now it makes sense to me to utilise that knowledge in doing Adsense, etc., as this particular field is indeed growing and certain aspects of it will be of more than a bit of concern to the general public.

I mean, really; I know fuck all about e-books or which ones people will buy and am not interested in spending a ton of dough to find out which ones they WON'T buy! I know beanshit about which bits of software people will buy so I think that's out.

In this area, I suspect that there are few, if any opportunities for affiliate sales.

My point is, that this particular area is a thing which I know and know well.

I 'spose I'm asking if this way might be best way to go?

I'm not seeking an easy road but rather a more effective and profitable one!

What would you do, were you me?

Thanks in advance for your kind replies!

    Uptown.

If you are able to do what you are an expert on and it's profitable, I say go with it only if you enjoy doing what your an expert on.

of course its a good way to go.. as long as there is a market for something its better to go with something you know.

think about this: if you were a person who is gonna buy an e-book or course or whatever, would you buy it from a dipshit who dont sound like they really know what theyre talking about, or are you gonna buy something from the guy who sends out knowledgeable info to potential clients and sounds like he knows his stuff..

if you really know something well and it is a small enough niche you could easily become an "authority" of the niche

Well, as it happens, I do enjoy it very much and that makes it a lot easier and less like work.

    Thanks!

    Your welcome.

Yeah, the way I figure, if you don't enjoy doing it, even if it's profitable, it's going to be more like work. Yuck!

I think you need to figure out what the best use of your time will be. Just because you enjoy your particular area of expertise does not necessarily mean that you should pursue it online.

If I were an expert on 'growing a really healthy fern' I do not know that I would run with that online...because it might not be 'in demand' and it might not really be profitable.

There are two schools of thought here, though. Some would say that if you can narrow it down to a ridiculously specific niche, then it might be possible to rank on the first page in Google and make a sale or two every month, provided that people are searching for it. Do some keyword research.

Me, I would become an expert on the migration pattern of coconuts if I figured I could make a killing at it.

Whatever you do, just pick ONE tactic for making money online and STICK WITH IT and become an expert at that ONE method. Don't get sidetracked with the million other opportunities out there.

I am slowly learning this...the hard way. :twak:

    EXCELLENT POINTS!

How did you know that I run a bit to the scatter-brained?

FOCUS is one of THE most difficult things which I face!

Oh, yeah; I' also TRYING to stop smoking, so I'm really pretty much in a GOOD mood! :twitch:

Yeah, my field of expertise IS a current money-maker and I think will only get better in future, so thanks for your input!

    Uptown.:)

I'm not even going to say to focus. What I will say is, I'm an expert in a certain niche in the real estate and mortgage industry and I make a decent amount of monthly cash strictly off of adsense and actually doing deals. I get tons of leads online and clicks. I've made in the last year off of this niche alone about $20,000 between leads and adsense. I'm thinking for 2008 I'm going to whore out this niche and just take the top five spots on the search engines. I'm already number one on all the majors, but I think the top five might add a few thousand to my bottom line. Of course when I take the other four positions I'll use other domains and other servers (hosting) to do it. I found a niche where there is little competition and I'm the perfect person to fill it.

On the other end of the scope where I say not to focus I'm also and always will be looking into other deals and niches because as soon as you start doing good in one thing the whole deal dies. The deal I have in the real estate and mortgages industry could die with the change of one law and I know this could happen any day so I take advantage as long as I can.
