    imo, python would be a good start. there are a ton of libraries available to do whatever you want it do and its pretty easy to pick up. figure out what you want to do and keep googling and trying stuff until you make it work.

    If you're looking to become a great programmer, then you should start with C++ so you can learn how memory works. If you're looking to make just a few desktop tools for yourself, then stick with VB.net.

    I vouche for Python (my personal favourite) and VB.NET which can do all stuff as C# (except some that you won't probably use), but is easier to begin with.

    wtf!?!

    Learn php - it's easier than C++ to get a grip on and you can write any bot you like.

    PHP is a server side scripting language. I think he wants to make some desktop tools for himself.

    How to become a hacker

    A hacker is a programmer, no less, no more. If you have any negative connotations popping up when you hear the word "hacker", stop programming right now.

    The above link is the best read you will ever find on the subject.

    Read that, then follow his instructions. Python -> Perl -> C -> Java -> C++ -> Python.

    Every programming language has vital information and a vital build that you must understand; this will add to your experience as a coder.

    It's all in the file. Read it, and follow the resources.

    Good luck.

    A hacker most likely can code, but a programmer is not necessarily a hacker. Hacking requires "thinking outside the box", which is not a trait most people have.

    If your gonna learn C++ I would recommend only two things:
    -either Managed C++ from M$ Visual Studio
    -or CodeGear RAD Studio C++ Builder - this is like C++ made easy as VB6 - greatest tool to learn how to make pure compiled apps for in C++ Win32/64
