    Hey guys,

Decided to go to Thailand, but don't know anyone there and all friends can't because reasons. Planning to go late May, sometime in June. Reasons for going: desiring for a 180 degrees change of scenery from the Netherlands. Fed up with this peaceful country, need something more exciting. I figured I would ask here because a person with no strong interest in earning money quickly becomes boring for me to talk to. And we all like to earn on this website, don't we?

If you have similar plans, hit me up.

Thailand is so different to the Netherlands an you'll have an awesome time. Go to tourist areas an you'll make friends. Everyone in Thailand is so nice, I don't know if it's just the Thai nature rubbing off on everyone of the cheap alcohol. Don't let a lack of a partner stop you, you'll meet all types of cool people.

Thanks for the assurance, dude. What places do you recommend in Thailand? Thinking about either Phuket or Bangkok. Not really looking to travel. Not my thing and I have a business to uphold, so always need an Internet connection.

Hey dude, thanks for inviting, but already been to Poland. Although I'd probably go there impulsively anytime, I'm looking for something that is so unlike our culture. Not that we have a lot in common with the Polish, but still. Also, I'm originally from a neighboring country, so I won't feel far from home.

I would recommend chiang mai or Phuket. Bangkok is an awesome city but its just another city and I got sick of the crazyness pretty fast. Chiang Mai isn't near the water or anything, its busy but there is allot of awesome pubs and heaps of girls. Phuket is really pretty with nice water, but there is heaps of tourists and Thai people will constantly try sell you junk that you don't need.

It really depends on what sort of experience you want. You can also get cheap flights from Bangkok to Phuket and stay there for just a weekend, or to Chiang Mai. As soon as you get there start to learn a bit of the language. Knowing how to say NO is the best piece of advice I can offer. If you keep saying "no no no" at a Tuk Tuk driver they wont understand, but if you yell "mai!" they think you know Thai and will drive away.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

I've read some of other people's experiences, and they seem to be generally in line with your own. I'll definitely try to visit all three over the months. Thanks for you input, bruv.
