Looking for .co.uk backlinks

Hi all,

I registered a new domain a few months ago and started to optimise the website for my chosen keywords. As the site is a .com domain it is ranking well in google.com but not really any good in google.co.uk.

I would therefore be really grateful if anyone could provide a list of places I can get .co.uk back links. I am also interested in paid back links as well.

UK article directories are an easy place to start - easy to find and fast response rate for inclusion. A quick google for 'UK article directories' brought up quite a few options.

You can also play around with the advanced search in Google looking for .co.uk's or use site:.co.uk command with your keywords.

There are also a number of UK based (free) directories that can be found in a similar way, but I generally find that Article Directories have a faster response rates so would get a few articles out there straight away.

Depending on your business, you can use Gumtree for UK traffic if need be. Google seems to be quite fond of it and if structured right will rank well in Google and drive some okish traffic to your site. Just be careful to avoid letting it outrank you for the keywords you're building backlinks for as it has quite strong rankings.

Have you registered the site on google local business center
get listed on google maps,
also points from squelsh is great.

Try the following on search engines to find .co.uk social bookmark sites:

Try forums too;

yourkeyword "Powered By vbulletin" inurl:.co.uk

Thanks all for the advise. Regarding the article directories must have very low pr, such as 1 or zero. Thanks for the list coronzone, will definitely make use of it.

Get google webmaster and make sure you say you are a UK domain. Works for me...

You said you have a .com domain,,,and I would take a guess you domain registration was done in the usa and you host it on a usa server and your whois shows you are from the usa any bells ringing why you will never rank well in the uk
