Looking for a more reliable VPS provider

Bouught a VPS with one provider for a few months and overall it was okay,
but there were a few issues that started getting annoying.
Sometimes speed was fine, sometimes it was just dead slow for no reason. Had some connection drops too and support was mostly "we are checking"

Nothing toooo crazy, moved away from them.

What VPS are you guys using these days? Looking for something stable, don't really care about fancy stuff. Any suggestions?

Hetzner is the commonly recommended upgrade for stability and price to performance, very consistent uptime and better network than budget providers. Vultr and DigitalOcean are solid too with more datacenter locations if you need specific geo.

You can also try checking out the marketplace section as there’s plenty of providers on forum as well.

I’ve been with Vultr for half a decade now, mostly deploying simple landing pages. Never had an issue with downtime nor loading speeds.

Depending on your use, I assume you want something with a solid (real) up-time guarantee and a somewhat responsive (real) type of support.

One thing is that it's almost never worth it to jump on any sort of too good to be true sounding promo pricing (not saying this was the case).
Hosts that oversell their infrastructure based on low end pricing may end up exactly that - oversold, which mean sub-par performance and support not being able to handle the client volume either.

I'd look primarily for references, contract conditions, if you can talk to actual staff, and track record - beyond the metal part and specifications, as that's what usually makes all the difference.

Yeah, I've found Vultr to be quite reliable for straightforward websites as well. For basic landing pages, a good VPS along with caching will do just fine.
