A Compact Presario with an AMD Septron processor and Windows Vista? You'll feel like your on a Pentium III. Total hunk of crap.

WOW - I don't need a laptop, but this deal looks real good - I mean normal notebook for under 300$?! And it's not an Acer? It would be a great business in my country, I could sell it for the 2x price :D

I had a pretty bad experience with Compaq :-s

    In 2 years I had:

    1) Mobo replaced: 3 times
    2) RAM replaced: 6 times
    3) HDD replaced: Once
    4) Battery replaced: 3 times

Now waiting for the LCD to go dead...lucky I had extended warranty :-s

Dell is the way to go :D

I don't know about that. You're better off going for something with more quality. Check this one out, it's what i bought and i can totally vouch for it's awesomeness so far.

The asus f50 series laptop. I got the f50sv-x1 back in may and it's amazing. This isn't the exact same, it's the newer version. Buy it if you wan't quality. ASUS is the world's top motherboard manufaturer.

HIGHLY recommended. BTW, it can run crysis on high with a little lag but medium no problem. All the games by valve play at 175fps+ that i've tried on it so far. You won't have any problem running blackhat apps on it. Even 10's of apps at a time. Might want to upgrade to 64bit vista though.

I was faithful with dell laptops up until i got this one i have now. Really the only complaints i had about them was that they overheated really easily.

Cool, i like that you can get different colours and graphics along with customization with the dell laptops. Little high in price though.

I bought two of them this morning when they went on sale @ 8am. One for my girlfriend and one to have to keep in the truck when I'm traveling. They don't seem bad if you need a basic computer.

I have a discount card, so it would only be $270 for me lol. In all seriousness though, laptops from walmart should have a 1 year manufacturers warranty, so it seems like a great deal.
