Looking for a dedicated server with dedicated 100mbps bandwidth.

USA based datacenter, 2-4 cores, 1GB RAM per core, minimum 500GB HDD, 100mbps DEDICATED unmetered bandwidth.

Right now the cheapest I have found is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5Ghz, 4M Cache, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD at $150/mo.

If anybody knows a cheaper one considering the configuration, please let me know.

    Thank you.

PS: I am not interested in crappy umetered servers that barely work at 10-20mbps. I need real dedicated 100mbps.

You should be more concerned with what kind of activities they will tolerate. If in the USA you might face restrictions with certain activities.

I'm not doing anything illegal. I am scraping & indexing sites like a search engine.

I have run my own hosting company for quite a few years now. Offering dedicated bandwidth with dedicated servers.

There is NO ONE IN HELL you will get a DEDICATED 100mbit connection AND the server for $150.00 a month.

It will be shared and the speeds will be bad !!!

Most people find server4u.com and think its amazing, but its NOT !

Do the math yourself, I purchase unmetered bandwdith in BULK and I get it for $20 per mbit from our carrier and $10 per mbit from another.

So for JUST YOU to use 100mbit would cost ME / ANY hosting company around $1,000 just for the bandwidth. Then they have to take into account for power / cooling etc / space and the hardware itself.

    Just my $0.02

    cheers

Check out datashack man. They have some of the best prices I have seen.. Its $50/mo more for the 100mbps line and they are located in USA.

Note: I am not affiliated with them.

    Code:

    Check out WHT.

Otherwise - Softlayer currently has a deal where if you use the code TRIPLE you will get double ram, HDD and bandwidth. You're going to be using Linux I presume as you are doing scraping? Softlayer also has up to 2GBIT if you need it :). Been with them since 2008 on and off and always use them whenever I need to do something.

Otherwise if you are doing scraping and need a fast connection but not always scraping, I recommend using something like EC2 or Rackspace Cloud Servers as you get charged by the hour. I scrape results every month but only pay under $10 for the servers I use as I only use then for less than 12 hours :).

    edit:

Just thought I might add that I don't work for hosting, there is so many good hosts out there.

Softlayer is very expensive for what i need. My scraper will take 2 months on 100mbps dedicated connection to finish. Dusing those 2 months the server will be in full load with both CPU and network maxed out. For quick scraping jobs I can just used my shared hosting which works at 50-80mbps and they don't seem to mind me scraping every now and then for a few hours. As I said i am looking for something cheaper than what I indicated I have already found.

    Thank you

I, too, have run my own hosting company...

Prices have come down quite a bit imo but, I did have an unmetered 1Gbps dedi for $199 around this time frame WITH AYKServers (2011-12)

For unmetered 100Mbps dedis, I know of TWO and have used both of them ;)
    Code:
    [url]http://fdcservers.net[/url]
    [url]http://ceuservers.net[/url]

With FDC, the machines are cheaper and bandwidth more expensive; just the opposite with CEU...
not to be mean, but an upgrade to 1GB costs $140 (and they can knock it down to $100), however, with CEU the upgrade to 1GB costs 39euros = $55 :)

back to your statement... a dedicated 100Mbps costs $144 FDC and only 89 euros ($125) with CEU.

As stated by others (I don't know why), but the following disclaimer applies: I have no affiliation (other than being a customer) with these companies. :)
