Font and header size can be modified via the theme's style sheet.

Font size on style.css around line 16
Header on style.css on line 212

I want to get rid of that stupid orange color on the theme. Hover on the article topic and you get an annoying orange. Even when you click on the topic you get the stupid orange. I want to get rid of that.

    Can anyone tell me how?

You are correct. For others, it is easy to find out what theme a wordpress blog uses. Simply dump the page source and see where they load the CSS from. It will have the theme name in the URL.

You need to do some modifications in the style.css

First make a copy of the file and then start editing the original. After each change, save and refresh the page to see if it has the desired effect.

Look for the word hover in link tag (a) to get rid of hover effects. There might be several hover tags so you need to make sure that you remove the right one.

To change bgcolor, find bgcolor or color in body or header tag.

If you cannot find it, take a snapshot of the theme and open it in Photoshop. Use color picker to find the rgb code of the color and find the code in the style.css file. Change the code as per your requirement

Hope that makes sense to you

If you need to tweak a design in CSS, I have been using a very good firefox plugin called "FireBug"

All you have to do is select, on the page, anything you want to change and it allows you to "preview" any changes you do on the fly. And then you can go back to your html/css files and make changes accordingly.
