Look what this little sh#t has done!!!

What did this piece of crap has done is worse.Like who does this for 10$ lol, this is weird.I really don't trust any freelancing sites now, leaving BHW.Still gotta be safe here too!

Just a piece of advice to everyone, dont share your log in details with anyone on gigs sites.

I've let devs from fiverr have ftp access before, as well as creating wp accounts for them etc without problem.

But I stopped doing it because now I just use teamviewer, log into my backend, and let them work in front of my eyes so I can a) keep tabs on what they're doing and b) not have to give out any sensitive info.

It's not practical for large amounts of work though, but I would prefer to spend 2 hours watching a dev work on my site and know that it's going to be safe at the end with the work completed instead of taking a punt on some random guy who could do something similar to this crap from OP's idiot dev.

Hard luck OP, hopefully you have a backup. Give teamviewer a try next time if it suits your situation.

Dude, definitely feel sorry for you but I think you should go one step further with this whole thing. I mean luckily you've got a backup, so besides some stress and temporary fear no major damage.
I think that you should write a nasty email to the Fiverr support. You'll get your money anyways but why don't you complain about the major damage that this has caused to you. I mean, you've lost so much money due to your websites outage. Your family depends on it. Much stress. Lot's of troubles with host because of the backup. Financial misery etc. You got my point? :smirk:
Maybe Fiverr will be generous and drop some discount codes or maybe even charge the seller a penalty fee. They value customers over there.

:weep::weep::weep: - CryLaugh

I mean, why would you EVEN go to damn FIVERR to give your site's info to ABDULLAH so he can hack you? LMFAO LOL LOL

Sorry, I m just so laughing, it probably feels crap to be you right now. If we don't laugh, who are we? :D :D :D

Anyway, i'll go out of here, I am afraid that ABDULLAH is following you. :D :D :D :D

Feel sorry for you man..
You couldnt have known, but running backups isnt so hard.
Many hosting providers have an automated tool for that.. With a few adjustments, you can schedule them.

So you gave your website password to some random dude in fiverr and then he deleted your website?

this fucking sucks, thanks for sharing, better be careful, when you are in IM for a long time, sometimes you have lesser suspicion to have things done fast, which is a huge mistake like you example, please to everybody, secure your ass...

Hey man, I know it doesn't make up for it, but at least his gig is banned now. (But unfortunately, not his account...)

Try contacting your Webhosting. they may have a backup.

Whilst they 'may', the owner of the site should make their own backups. Period. There's no excuse not to keep backups yourself. This is a common misconception that web hosts are required to keep individual backups for their customers. Whilst most hosts keep backups, they are bundled together for disaster recovery purposes, not to restore individual accounts. Owner of the domain should have their own.

This is why its important to hire professionals to handle your site. I personally avoid people that offer services that are too cheap

Sigh...

Yes so much stress and financial loss that the buyer decided to take a risk and spend $5-10 on the marketplace IF the was making money he shouldn't have been a tight ass to start with. (no offence OP just using you to make my point)

It is worth a note to support though in either case that

1. Provider failed to deliver in time frame.

2. When you questioned it they cancelled the gig.

3. After the seller cancelled it without explanation, he removed your site.

NOTE as well OP IF you ever have an issue in the future with any kind of developer if you want them off the project or are not happy I suggest you change access passwords first!
