so i got a site that aint doing shit. normally im good in this local niche. so i was thinking why not create backlinks from my other sites already ranked to this new one? One focuses on roofing in a town in CA, the other ones ranked focus on roofing in FL. But since their all roofing related wouldnt that be a credible backlink? I got all this shit hosted on the same ip address too. What u think will it help?

Buy new IPs for the already existing domains and then throw a link from them.

Do not create all links at once, specially if the domains have stats already, try to space it out to a max of 1 a day. If you have a low amount of websites (5-10) then just create 10 links over a 30 day period. Patience will pay on the long run ;)

    Best of luck

This is disaster waiting to happen, you will get all sites penalized.

In moderation, you can probably get away with this and improve your rankings. However, you are creating a bit of a footprint/wheel, especially if they are all hosted in the same place, same Whois, etc. If your goal is local rankings, you might try and spend some time hunting down some hyper local (niche/city specific) citations opps, in the form of local business directories. Whitespark is a great way to help in said hunting, or otherwise just manually search your top ranking competitors phone numbers and scan the SERPs for where they are listed.

I would at the very least host them all on separate IPs. Ideally different web hosts. In general though you want to avoid interlinking as if Google sees your small network as a link network you might get penalized. Then again with the small size of just a few sites, they might overlook it.

Try hosting all the websites on different IPs because if one site get penalised it will affect others as well and do link building gradually

I would recommend against interlinking your own websites, unless you host them on separate accounts to treat them as different.
