A client of mine (Client A) is going to be renting a large warehouse type building in the middle of a large american city. He is going to be renting out this building to multiple sub tenants with different types of businesses, italian food, mexican, jewelry, clothing, design etc.

I need to build a website for the overall warehouse and I want to try and rank it in local seo for the keywords related to all the businesses. IE jewelry KW, italian food KW etc. I was going to make a page for every sub tenant business on the site and try and rank those pages. For example creating page on url warehouse.com/italian-food-city-name/

Is this the best way to go about this? Anything in particular I should consider beforehand?

Buddy this looks like a hard task. I don't know if you can achieve enough topical relevance on all of the stuff you want to rank, imho the niches looks too much different. Also ranking all this type of business in local search with a single GMB page categorized under unrelated categories.. I don't see how all this will fit. May be it's possible, but I never tried something like that.

I think you will get better advice on some more specific forums and social groups related to local SEO.

What kind of advice is this? You don't even include a link to get him in the right direction? I smell someone just looking to increase his post count.

This is going to be a harder task, but no where near impossible as its been done thousands if not millions of times it will however just take a little more work then some have the knowledge or means.

First of all the owner of the warehouse will need to ensure he updates the UPS with building numbers / suite numbers for each individual company If they are already divided then their should be an individual address for each business existing already.

using your example warehouse.com <~ You have a few options to be honest, but what I would personally do is design the home page site similar to a shopping mall set up. Have each business that is within the warehouse listed on home page with logo, name, address, and phone number. I would separate the information using schema to help tell google who you are when crawling the site. (Data high lighter works as well) Each Business needs to inner link to the sub page for the business off the home page.

    warehouse.com/Category/Business-name

    Examples
warehouse.com/Food/italian-food-city-name/ You could even go further in-depth and do warehouse.com/Food/italian-food-city-name/menu/item
    warehouse.com/Jewelry/I-E Jewlery

Be sure to include each local business phone number in the inner page, build citations to each inner page, build industry related links to each individual inner page.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a toll free number on the home page and submit/promote it as a shopping mall type location.

I don't give a crap what you smell. I am not obligated to give link or anything else for that matter! Who the hell are you, the comment police or something?

if the businesses do have individual addresses i would of thought it would be easier to have seperate google my business listings claimed by the store owners themselves, hopefully from different ip`s and their own websites ,also hopefully hosted on different servers to differentiate between them .id be very careful to make sure i didnt get the whole address banned . and depending on the size of the town you are targetting theres no reason why you couldnt write a post about the ingredients in your burger being better than the competition or why you decided your pizzas would be all halal or kosher . sometimes in large towns i can get away with breaking that town into the smaller areas within that town but that would depend on the town obviously .

No, I am not the comment police.. Simply calling it as I see it. Why comment if you aren't willing to help. That is what this thread is directed too.. Asking for help. Not.. "Oh man.. this is a hard task, don't do it. "

Seeing on how you represent yourself I am not interested in arguing back and fourth.. Continuing to increase your post count haha.

    Have a nice day!

Here's how I would do it:

    1. Make sure each business who rents a space to be renting it for at least 6 months (this is important to make it worth your while in building a sub page for him with citations and all).

    2. Make sure each business would be assigned a "SUITE NUMBER". I noticed a trend that Google allows multiple businesses under one roof if they have their own room so if consistently have a suite number (starting from 1 upwards) assigned to each, it wouldn't be suspicious since it would portray that each has his own space (but have a common lobby).

    3. Make sure to have a subpage on website first AND a few citations on major platforms for EACH business FIRST before you apply for a Google Places listing. That way, it would show that the business is credible, has customers and has its own space in the building. I'm sure a postcard will arrive.

    You are welcome.

    Home Page:
In one of my projects, I am trying something similar for local wedding businesses. And I can tell you: IS A MAJOR PAIN IN THE ASS.

Set your homepage as a directory.

Also, try to reach other local directories.

As a trick, to get some backlinks for your website, if those local businesses have websites, create a badge with a backlink and let them post it on their website, this way all those businesses will link back to you.

is a hard task, but not impossible ;)
