Looking to dip my toe in the local seo/web developing pond, I have resisted for few years now for one reason or another.

Had many people of the last months asking me to do this and that - but honestly to think there is any good money in it to do this as a serious income, can anyone prove me wrong and what is a acceptable rate for

Domain + Keyword Research + Hosting + SEO

Domain + Keyword Research + Hosting + SEO + Links Package

Domain + Keyword Research + Hosting + SEO + Links Package + Social Media

    That sort of thing...

What im thinking is how oftern am I going to get trade 80% of the time I will be cold calling + hunting for trade.

So my question can this be a worth while venture....

When you say local SEO; do you mean doing SEO for local companies?

If yes; do you think your local market is able to take on another SEO consultant? :) Do you have a lot in your area?

Start out by mapping out your competition - when you do you'll also find out what they charge. Place a few calls pretending to be a client, they'll tell you their fees.

Use a local directory to find small businesses.and throw them an offer they can't resist.sms works best IMO.know the current rates n go a bit below them for starters.people need people like you always to do their shit for them at a discount.YOU'l earn their business, some referals, n recurring payments

Its like any offline business in that if you are comfortable doing sales and know how to close, you will get business. As far as rates go they vary drasticly. What some do for $200 others charge $2000 and the next guy will charge $20000 literally. Its worth whatever you can get someone to pay you. If you actually know what you are doing, you should be able to gauge your pricing based on what new earnings your work will generate for them.
