Hi,

For years I had a local business always ranking high in both serp and maps.

Suddenly, without doing anything at all, G slammed the business to the fifth page of the serp, while in maps more or less remained stable.

Needless to say, the economic damage is becoming significant.

Could someone please point me to where to learn all the useful steps to identify the causes of the problem and subsequently what actions to put in place to try to recover ranking?

Thank you very much in advance to anyone who can provide me with useful guidance.

not an expert on local SEO, but from what I've read on the forum over the years, apparently the trick with ranking locally is having good (and genuine) reviews, and also lots of citations (NAPs). So, you're probably lacking in these things behind your competitors...

Thanks for the advice.
The reviews are ok, all true, all 5-star and in greater numbers than the competitors.
NAPs are fine, I have been monitoring them for years.
But in any case it seems strange to me that these two could be the causes for a sudden drop of 5 pages, especially since GMB/GBP continues to rank excellently in maps

I don't know then, sorry :(

Let's hope someone else can help...
