So I'm running a local pc repair business. I created the site and it's indexed in google, currently all my customers get to my site through CPC.

For example lets say my domain name is "newyorkpcrepair.com" and im targeting the keyword "new york pc repair". My domain name is pretty much like that, just for a different city.

Competition doesn't seem to be too hard, and I'm currently on page 3 on google.

How should i go around getting my rank up? I know i should probably be getting backlinks for my site. I see there are many services on this forum which offer backlinks. Can anybody recommend one?

#1 site has rank 3 and has about 3,000 backlinks. Could i beat this just by buying 10k backlinks from the services section?

You're asking a huge loaded question...

Kind of like me coming to you and asking "Can you fix my PC; it's broken?"

You're answer would be, "well, it depends on a hell of a lot factors, and I can't really tell you without seeing it..."

Read the forum and learn.

Do NOT buy any blasts until you know what they'll do. Guns don't kill, people who pull the triggers do.

First you make sure you did proper on-site SEO. And have good quality content on your site. If you dont have content (most of the PC repair site dong have one) feed good content with your keyword on it.
Don't blast backlinks directly to your money site, and that too in a quick time. Build backlinks slowly. You need to get relevant backlinks. It will take time but always slow and steady win the race. Don't ever do black hat stuffs to your site. It will harm you one day or other.

I would add content but I'm not really sure how much relevant content i need. So far the site simply has a description of basic services, and my email/phone contact information. There doesn't seem to be much other content to add.

Site is only 1 page.

I have had some luck ranking some sites, havent tried local so all of these sites are pretty generic..i.e. more competition.

I have found that a minimum of 5 articles with a minimum 500 words or more is decent content to start. After that add a new article every week or every couple of weeks.

Make sure your site is optimized well then go at it with content. The 1st guy that replied to your thread can get you all set up in regards to content. :)

After that then come back and ask us about links.

Make more pages than 1. Create a privacy policy page. About us page, home page and contact us page.

See if you want to rank for "new york pc repair". You should include that on your title tag, description and should write some content related to "new york pc repair". Like about us page, vision mission page. Describing product and categories etc.,

If you're targeting local terms, like "new york pc repair", chances are at the top of the search results there's a 7-pack or 10-pack of local results. That's where you want to be.

The best way to get in there is to make sure you're correctly indexed in all of the local directories. Claim your listings in google places, bing, yelp, citysearch, and all of the yellow page sites. Then make sure your listings are keyword-heavy and link back to your website. Then work on getting reviews for your local business. Should move you up the local rankings in no time.

YUP. I already submitted my site for Google Places and they're in the process of mailing me the pin to confirm my location. It should actually be in the mail today in a few hours.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just checked the mail. Google Places PIN arrived :D

Just creating the Google Place account may not be enough. if there is a lot of competition you will have do a bit more to get your Places account ranking.

make sure you fill in all of what is required (or as much as you can). For example, add photos, opening times, parking, add a video (make a free one on animoto.com made from pictures. Upload to youtube and add to your Places listing).

Join as many directories as you can. Make sure to use the exact same information you have used in your Google Places listings in all the directories you join.

get feed back on your services in the listings.

I could go on but that should help for now.
