don't know but looking at its backlink profile it's TF is through the roof.Even if the site gets burned up, the owner would have had made decent coin that's for sure. Cheeky bastard prepped up earlier for 2016 and now rules the SERPs.
Right, so what you're saying is if we had two identical sites but one had the EMD it should rank higher in theory?
Thats not just a theory. EMD used to have a huge impact on ranking. Its less effective nowadays but still good to have.
nice man good for him. i hope it's worth whatever time and money he put into it. it took a lot of work that's for sure. if i were him i would try to squeeze more money out of every visitor. perhaps partner up with a major carrier like verizon or ting.
yes what better a signal than to have to have your niche/kw in your domain itself. Obviously, there are factors in play, but still. EMD >> General domain.
Listen, google didn't magically say "EMDs cant rank at all" They simply leveled the playing field, EMDs still rank just like any other website. EMDs will always be better slightly better then a general domain name simply because it more relevant to the search. This thread is useless, anyone with common sense should be able to figure this out.
They were never dead, they just lost their original ranking power. Given all things equal, they can still outperform a generic site.
EMDs/PMDs still have a slight advantage over general names, but on the other hand they are more fragile, especially when it comes to too high ratios of exact and partial match keyword backlinks.
Of course they're better than a generic or irrelevant name. If I'm searching for Coco Pops, what makes more sense to rank higher (everything else being equal); "Coco-Pops.com" or "CrazySite.com"? EMDs are better than no relevance.
