Hi guys,

I've been reading quite a lot about corporations lately and even though many concepts are clear for me now, there's a concept that is still shady to me.

I finished college as an intl student and I'm currently working for a company in the US (visa, not citizen or resident). I'm doing some minor IM, AC, and CPA, but I don't even know If I'm allowed to do it, so I want to create an LLC to run all the internet business while working full time as an engineer.

Does anyone knows if I can make a US LLC even if I'm not American and would that interfere with my immigration status?

I would really appreciate if someone can share some advice in the subject.

Thanks.

Yes you can. You can do it at Delawareinc.com

I use them myself. So far so good.

As far as I know, you can own an LLC or C-corp. if you're not a citizen unlike s-corps.

You can definitely get an LLC as a non resident. You could use it for an E2 investor visa, for your company or with the right immigration lawyer you might even be able to do an H1B visa. Lots of possibilities with a little creativity and the right contacts :D

Can someone please explain the tax benefits of an LLC and S-Corp as opposed to just paying your regular taxes? I have been trying to figure this out for a while but dont get it. I know that you can write certain things off in an LLC like phone bills or internet usage but cant you also put that as a work expense for regular taxes?
