    Hi Guys,

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I just handed in my resignation at my work (I am an SEO consultant) to start out on the rocky road of self-employment. I am setting up a video marketing/production company with a friend, with the long-term goal of becoming a filmmaker. While we tackle client work, we have another avenue we are putting in motion and I would love to run it by you guys.

Basically we are going to produce 6 high-quality YouTube shorts (2-3 minutes), with a blog written for each one. We will then put out a video once every two weeks, in between producing more so we can keep to the one every two week schedule. Each video will link back to our blog where we will talk about how each video is done, the challenges behind it and most importantly the products and equipment used. It's here we will place affiliate links where possible. If all goes to plan we will eventually move to a video a week (With accompanying blog post).

I have no worries about the video quality, we are both skilled film-makers (My friend already has 10 mil+ views and 30,000 Subscribers) however what I would love some insight on is marketing these videos. Facebook looks like a non-starter now since they favour their video platform, Facebook Ads might be one way but from personal experience they are hit and miss. Got no idea how to get it into blogs, do I buy links? Do you guys have any advice on how I get people to the actual video when its out?

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this as well, it seems like the most suitable.

Cant your friend promote the new videos on his channel?

Reddit is a great place to share your videos - if they are quality they will go viral

Didn't even think of Reddit! Brilliant, I'll make an account tonight and start contributing tonight so I have some creditability before I start dropping links. As for my friend sharing links, he will be doing but his fan base are pretty fickle. He got them off the back off Spider Man Fan films and its seems that's all they want but we shall see.

We will be sharing on social but Facebook love having their own videos on the forefront and we will not be uploading them to Facebook. We will however be making shorter, more disposable content for Facebook to help build a following.

    One can dream Jim!
