Living as a white female (foreigner) in India: is that possible?

I was wondering if it is possible to live as a white female in India. I am kind of a digital Nomad and can live wherever I want.

However, I like privacy and do not want unnecessary eyes. Also, I do not like to live in a too busy city. I prefer rest.

Will people find me strange? Will guys leave me alone? I absolutely do NOT like people following/stalking me.

Basic living utilities are recommended, but some extra luxury is always nice.

Which places/cities do you recommend?

Very interested in seeing the answers on this thread .

Bangalore will be good choice for that.
 
I am not from india but I heared Mumbai is advanced than any other cities all over the india (a bit expensive)
 
I'm full time im like you but male ... I lived in diffrent countries ... i would recommend Alanya city in turkey nice ,cheap, and a lot of europian ppl living there ... georgia country is another choice if looking for 3 in one cheap,nice, and safe ...
 
Any of the major cities should be fine. Just be sure to choose a posh area to avoid unnecessarily eyes. For example, if you choose Kolkata; stay in Saltlake/Newtown. Internet connectivity is pretty good here, and nobody will be bothering you unless you want to have a beer or two with me. :p

There are very few places that will suit your preferences in India. You can stay in south Mumbai, south delhi or Bangalore.

Be very careful of scammers...some people are looking for foreigners to scam.

You should go to Goa if you like beaches with all basic amenities, but for privacy you might have to get home in some good area.

Goas is alright right but its filled with wannabe DN's or was before covid. The breed who aren't real DN's they just call themselves DN's whilst living off daddys credit card.
 
Would not recommend India right now! Currently we're biggest hotspot of Corona.

Other than that, you may choose Goa to stay as digital nomad. That state is quite progressive and wouldn't cost you a leg and arm :D Other major cities are quite okay too but comes with their own issues as the infrastructure is not the best so you'd need to live in a posh area and even that wouldn't solve the pollution issues.

Air quality is shitty pretty much everywhere in South Asia, especially in cities.

To OP, any particular reason for choosing India? Why not say Indonesia (a lot of places to look around) ? or Sri Lanka :D

Nothing wrong with India - just curious
