I found a useful tool to monitor site traffic live

you simple add a plugin to your wordpress site or you copy and paste some code to your site

enter the information into your account - then you can see as people come and go from your site - and how they got there.

You get a month free trial for any package - then you can just go down to the free one - which means it will only track 1 site.
