Just something I've noticed when signing up for different aff programs. When you first create an account and have to choose a username, I've found it's better NOT to use actual words. So many 'gurus' say that you should use a word that is related to what you will be selling. I have found that this decreases conversions. Compare:

    Code:
    amazon/B002RL8IUY%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJ6PGIEQEZ3MPN4HA%26tag%3D[B]johntheamazonassociateguy[/B]%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB002RL8IUY

    with:
    Code:
    amazon/B002RL8IUY%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJ6PGIEQEZ3MPN4HA%26tag%3D[B]lxvfg122367ws[/B]%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB002RL8IUY
...where the strings in bold are two different user ids.

What I've found is that people are totally put off by the idea of someone else making money out of their transaction, and the instant they see some kind of username or affiliate ID embedded in a sales link, they will run like hell.

    Just something I've noticed. :)

Better to use some kind of url shorteners so that people even couldn't know that this is affiliate url.

nice tip. i had never thought about this before but now that you mention it, i think you might be right. i would probably be less likely to buy if i saw an affiliate id in the link instead of just numbers.

doesnt matter, even if you use bit.ly, the actual url will appear in the address bar of the internet browser if you click on the link, and you'd be able to see the affiliate id there.
