No lie, I'm literally laughing about the misconceptions that I have seen here lately on the internet, and even here at BHW.

I'm not so sure about when things became unclear, or how they got so misconstrued, but I'm here to set things right once and for all.

Those of you who spend almost every waking hour of your day learning "search engine secrets" - you are wasting your time. The simple fact of the matter is that there is no magical solution to increase search ranking. Anyone who tells you otherwise is simply put, a liar.

If anyone did know such magical secrets, would he share it with you or anyone else for that matter? No. Why? Because valuable information is hard to come by, and is usually not free.

I'll say it again, if anyone tries to sell you some e-book with supposed secrets about search algorithims and improving SEO ranking almost overnight, then guess what? Simple fact of the matter is that you are probably being schemed.

Offended by my post already? If so, you should stop reading because I'm just getting started. I'm trying to help you guys, and if you continue to be fed lies, then your chances of being successful are low.

Now back to the conflict at hand - those of you who are on BHW and other related sites all day long looking for someone to leech from, you should take my advice and do the following:

Get off your lazy a** and go find your own methods of increasing sales and traffic.

It's perfectly fine to discuss things here at BHW, but do you honestly think someone is going to share some top notch method that you have never heard about? Yet again, this is highly unlikely.

You are wasting time, and I'm sure you have heard it already, but time is money. So, stop wasting your time - plan your next site, do some research, if things seem good, then set your blog up and start doing things that you already know.

The only good information that I can tell you guys to use, is the most basic information that you already know. It's basic information, but it's proven to work.

When I talk about basic information to improve your SEO, I'm talking about things like simple link building, on-site SEO, and other basic things like building a nice link structure.

Somewhere along the line, people trying to sell crap to the newbies gave false information that things had to be complicated or else you were doing it wrong.

Things don't have to be complicated at all. Sure, work has to be done. Building a network and actually creating quality back links is tough work, but it's the right way to go about doing things - and the right way is the right way. There is no other way around it. In the long run, the right way is going to benefit you more.

Moral of this post? Stop eating the lies. Search engine optimization does not have to be hard or complicated. If you want real help, I'm willing to help you guys.. just shoot me a PM but don't think I'm going to give you some magical seed that is going to make your site grow overnight.

Interesting post. It seems that people's modern addiction to instant gratification has completely killed this market as well. Each sector is probably similar. The early adopters really revolutionize and develop it, and then slowly commercialize it as more of the "brainless sheep" masses pour in. After a while, the market forgets its roots, and becomes fully geared towards selling instant gratification rather than sharing results and helping each other.

The real question is, where are the early adopters heading now?

You can''t say its a waste of time, sure there isn't any magic solution, and even if there is nobody will share it,yes
But its fine to look at what people say, what people tested, what people advice ect....this is like this you learn
after its up to you to make your opinion and see what you should do and how

i agree and then respectively disagree on points of reading information, I like most everyone on here began the same way. reading>testing>failing and Back to reading and testing and maybe results. so as far as a waste of time i disagree, however i would agree for people to stop having the mind set of a one step "easy button" of SEO rankings. dont be naive if this was the case the internet would explode :) good rant though i enjoyed it

You have completely missed the purpose of this thread. I don't mind taking time out of my day to possibly help someone who could benefit from my information.

Agree 110% with the OP. I get results, and it's because I listen to the RIGHT people. BHW is nice for brainstorming and networking. But most of the information here is so misguided it's a joke.

This should be everyone's Bible for the next 8 months: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors

Pretty hard to disagree with 132 panel experts.
