I've been thinking about trying to add other products to my basic store
but I'm not sure if what I'm thinking is entirely accurate or not.

I figured that listings that get a lot of views means that the product is popular, in high demand,
or many buyers are searching for it. This would mean you would get more views leading to
higher chance of making a sale, right? But on the other hand, it could also mean there is a lot more
competition, other sellers selling it and selling it for cheaper.

The other idea was to list a product that gets low view count. This would indicate that the item is less
popular, less buyers searching for it, which should also mean less competition, too (less sellers selling it).
Since you get so few views, your chances of a sale probably go down, too. But it the advantage could be that it's such a rare/niche item that if someone is looking for it on the off chance, they might come across yours and purchase it!

I've had both these experiences. Some items I list always get a lot of views (over a hundred, which is a lot for me), but it doesn't necessarily sell much faster than another item I listed that got so few views (less than 15 for the month). In some cases, they both sold at the same rate (for example, 1 sale each per month).

So that's why I'm sort of stuck between this debate I'm having with myself. Since I only have a basic store and have a limit to how much I can list, I have to decide whether I want to list more items that get many views or try to list items that I think might be quite rare and not many other sellers selling.

Which method have you found to be more effective?
