Many of you remember the old topic I made; it had one of my rough drafts for a song I was writing for my girlfriend. Well last week I decided to re-record everything, add in harmonies, lead guitar, etc. This should be fun if any of you remember the FIRST version!

    Tell me what you think:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFEQAo4Mvtk

    Separate Tracks:
    1 - Rhythm Guitar (acoustic) - G, Em, D, Em
2 - Fill guitar (surprisingly on acoustic too, added some digital distortion) - Em pentatonic
    3 - Vocals
4 - Harmonies (off on some parts, if you have some musical sense you should be able to hear it!)

Thanks for listening lol, feel free to laugh. My girlfriend is going to love the new version :D 7 months yesterday!

Thanks :D She loved it when I first showed it too her (back when it was just acoustic) and I'm giving her this on a CD tomorrow :)

I really can't sing at all either - people who saw the first version know that lol. That's basically the only real reason I added in the harmonies and whatnot - to give my voice a little boost and whatnot.

    hey, great job man!

I hope she really likes it. It's got a great tune and that's means a lot coming from a guy who never listens to songs like that... I listen to 99.99% rap.

Good work. Hopefully you will take this as constructive criticism, and not get mad. I am honestly trying to help.

Practice your rhythm. Your voice was off from the guitar in some parts. Other than that, good work. Songs from the heart are always great.

This makes me almost want to record something too. I've written a few songs for my girlfriend, and am currently working on one about this old man I know. I've got a slick ass 8 track recorder I need to dust off and put to work.

None taken! The rhythm being messed up was from playing the guitar and doing vocals seperately. I was listening to a metronome in my ears for both, and I couldn't hear what I was actually doing for a lot of the time.

When I play and sing at the same time, it's a lot easier to be on-beat all the time because I can correct the speed of both guitar and vocals simultaneously.

Also - do it! Music is something I think everyone should be involved in.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback!!
