Unfortunately, most (if not all) the 'names' from over the last 5-6 years are not the people you need to study or follow. There are more people on here earning 6-7 figures than you'd realise. And most of the ebooks and 'courses' out there are so hopelessly out of date that you'd be wasting your time.

Read between the lines here on the senior members posts, and scale up your own testing and become your own guru.

if you don't have the most current versions of the search engines rules and regs
start there, learn how the algorithims work and how they affect your rankings, and check there updates and how they are implemented.

as far as gurus? like mentioned before, most of there theories are outdated.
but for some basic info you can check out callen, seomoz, market motive, hubspot,Seobook etc.

there is no hard and fast rule to SEO, it's still a developing process.

tear the machine apart, learn how it works, reverse engineer it and come up with a method that works for you.

    Good luck man!
