    Ok,

One big question........what type of email address IS allowed to sign up for these sites?

I have tried several and they will not allow gmail or lycos or even business emails.

What email addresses do you use to sign up with these?

    Thank you!

Sorry guys, these .edu blogs accept blog creation only for their own organization's members. The acceptable e-mail is that of their own domain.

E-mail is needed to activate the newly created blog.

Try to register your WP MU blog at hxxp://tellsyou.info to understand the registration process. Finally, why not have your blog JoeSEO.tellsyou.info, SEOadvisor.tellsyou.info, or JohnLittle.tellsyou.info?

Yeah this wont work atleast on 99% of .edu blogs.. they only let you use the college email id, so unless you have somebody in the college that can lend you their email account this is a waste of time.

Eli from bluehatseo has a post up where he has seen some guy getting #1 positions on yahoo for viagra and other pills by exploiting CMS's on .edu sites.. perhaps you should be searching for mambo, joomla and its sorts on .edu sites....

Because an edu blog will get you better SE ranking and better ranking for any sites that you link on it.

Do you have any sample .edu sites where you were able to signup with an email that's not from the same domain as the college?

Hey anyone who posted on the MIT forum can you tell me how to put links into your text to get anchor text. Their formatting buttons don't have a link option, and HTML is not allowed, although I saw some really nice anchor text in those posts. Teach a new dog an old trick please.

Uhh. The link is supposedly not even a high PR link anyway. You were one of the few that ripped off Krispygirl.
