We all know that article directory is not as effective as they use to be anymore since the 2011 panda update.
What a lot of people don't know is that, there is power in article syndication.
Article syndication is a process where you submit an unspun content to various other sites unchanged.
A lot of newbies believe that article syndication is duplicate content which can result to penalty but that isn't true.
As a matter of fact, this system is very powerful white hat method that works so well, think about it,
press release sites do syndication and get one content published in thousands of big media sites unspun
and have never gotten penalized.

Google loves syndication..

If you want to test ride this technique then you can have a try with my do follow article directory list.

PageRank 6

PageRank 5

PageRank 4

PageRank 3

PageRank 2 and Under

I actually plan on doing some article marketing to see how is going to help some of my sites. Thanks for this well-arranged list.

Try to syndicate your content and don't worry about duplicate content because it doesn't exist.
People who spin end up creating plagiarism all over the internet when they can actually still enjoy link juice the syndicated way.
Spinning also leads to Google de-indexing your content.

You can get a lot of ranking from using article directories for link pyramid.
Give it a try and see.

Good info. I can confirm on this to. Wasn't sure why do I get better results only from submitting unspanned content but now it's getting clearer. Thank you.

Suppose I published a blog post on my blog and submitted it to these high PR directories. My blog is new and having no PR.It takes time for my posts to come in search results but as these directories are having high PR and content will be indexed rapidly. So when it comes turn of my blog won't Google flagged my content as duplicated ?

Of course its better if you'll submit the content once your post is already indexed.

Just my two cents
