I'm compiling a list of automated seo tools.

    Set and Forget:
NoHandsSEO - dead simple to get started, enter a url and keywords, it does the rest (one time fee)
ScrapeJet - dead simple to get started, enter a url and 3 keywords. Does not find very many links (one time fee)
GSA Search Engine Ranker - lots of footprints, good link diversity. Once you setup the campaign you can just let it run for weeks (one time fee)

    Manual Tools:
SErobot - lots of setup for a campaign, configuration, limited number of resources to submit your site to (makes account creation and submission a snap once you setup the campaign -- but this does take hours, not minutes like the others above) (monthly fee)
ScrapeBox - more manual, but the best way to do targetted blog commenting (one time fee)

There's a list here at the bottom of the page: captchasniper (dot com)
    Has anyone tried the others?
I rank based on link diversity, ease of campaign setup, and automation (is it a tool you can run for days or weeks, or just once then you have to start over).

    Feedback appreciated...

Avoid using tools, sometimes it makes it easier for google to see your manipulation

If you use the tools properly you can make it seem like natural, manual link building. It's when the tools are abused and you spam links all over the place that you might get flagged.

i second it, use your seo tools wisely and properly. You need to have a complete strategy designed at first and go according to it without leaving footprints. Though we need to be careful with automated tools, but they give fast and equally good results.

Yes, automated SEO is the way to go. But try to be natural. Dirt spam still works, far less effective than before and how long will it work? (Admittedly, the latter question arose years ago, but now some serious changes are manifestating). So better than compiling a list of tools is to compile a list of linkbuilding-ideas which can be automated. Believe me, with spam alone, you WONT bank.
