Here is a collection of all of the rumors I have heard via boards, groups, at conferences, or at social media cons over the last month:

    1. Blogs are going to be entirely devalued and will not boost backlinks/pyramids
    2. The G Devalue Tool will allow to see if a single person created certain backlinks, and if so, it can devalue all links created by that person
    3. Searches will filter through social networking sites before the web crawl results.
    4. Searches will only pick up sites talked about by social media, and there will be a second function for sites that just exist on the web based on keyword and informational merit, creating a system where google has a 'dual search'.
    5. You will have the option of searching for sites with fewer backlinks vs more backlinks, or the choice will be made for you. Sites with thousands and thousands of backlinks from single domains will get penalized, even if those backlinks are quality content.
    6. Geotargeted backlinks will impact basic search, meaning, if your site is based in the US and all of your backlinks are international, it may drop its results.
    7. The G Devalue tool will allow you to remove spammy backlinks but will also give you a temporary penalty from using it.
    8. If G determines you are using multiple webmaster tools from other SE's, ala Bing Webmaster Tools, etc, it can give you some sort of warning or devalue your ranking/GWMTs experience stating that 'it cannot receive correct data due to the presence of a competing service' ( I have heard like 3 separate people state this so far, anyone hearing this??)
Thats all of the rumors I can think of so far, list what you have heard...

Most of the things you've mentioned in the list seems unlikely to happen, at least in my opinion.

I've heard this one from many sources and I agree it would make sense and would be easy for G to implement. Basically if a link isn't getting links from proximate IPs it would make sense it looks like a spam link farm.

Pretty much all the things you listed I can't imagine happening. I personally think that the next update is going to focus even more on social signals, but most of what you listed above I wouldn't even worry about.

Web 2.0 sites stop passing any link juice. Those who blasted them will find that web 2.0 becomes trash, link value goes to your money site negatively and affects it. The odd idea.. Webmasters have a tool for their site. Anyone posting links on their site/blog will show up in a list. The owner can remove/turn off these links so they can't be used to pass any juice. And hand select which links they want to approve.

Also social just maybe can happen, it plays a factor now but it's too easy to manipulate. On the other hand I've been some really interesting results.

2 identical websites. One using 50 Real Facebook likes from people I knew in HS/College/Work/etc. vs. One using 50 fake Facebook likes from random fake accounts. The site with the 50 real friends is killing it in the serps right now, the fake one not so much.. I think the # of friends at some point will affect social values.. If you have 1,000 likes and those accounts have 5 friends that 5,000 friends in your network reach. If you have 1,000 likes and they are real you have at least 600 friends per each person, that's 600,000 in your network. HUGE difference.. I think this will play a role in the upcoming future here..

    1. Streets will run red with the blood of Im'ers
    2. People who know how to spam and spam properly will be sitting, pointing and laughing at you.

I am strongly leaning towards number two.

Doubt that is true. I work on Spanish market and must say that 80% or more of the IPs come from US, 15% from from EU - Asia and like 5% from Spain. Why? Because US is cheaper, faster and safer.

Maybe near geographical backlinks will be a little bit stronger for local searches, but that's all.

So... Everyone's just guessing? That's what this list sounds like, anyways.

Google's going to assign a dollar value to articles, and articles that cost less than $6/100 words will be relegated to the supplemental index. Services like textbroker will be able to add a digital signature that indicate how much the article cost but that will only be used for blog and news search ranking.

At the end of the day, rumors are only rumors. We'll cross that penguin filled bridge when we get to it.

For all we know, they're just going to roll out the same algo with more attention to detail. Matt Cutts might have just wanted to stir up some attention with his "new penguin attack".

Seriously, enough with this fear mongering speculation that is doing nobody any good, this is getting ridiculous...

All we know is that Matt Cunts said it was going to be 'big' and it was the mother of all updates. Anyone notice that is what Matt always says? There's always going to be a bigger and better update, just like there is going to always be a bigger and better call of duty. You'll still buy that bullshit.

Nothing wrong with speculation, it helps build good conversation.
