    Hi everyone,

I was just thinking how awesome it would be if the developers of S.E.O tools (like NHS, GSA, etc) made Linux versions, and ones that could be used from the command line. After obtaining a decent CentOS based VPS I thought this could be something the developers might want to think about...

I doubt anyone would develop SEO tool for linux command line as it would be inconvenient to be operated.

There are tons of good windows VPS deals, you might want to get yourself a windows VPS...

Actually, it's not such a daft idea because linux handles concurrent threads w-a-y better than any version of Windows. Any app doing multiple operations on multiple threads is going to perform massively better on an internet server than on a desktop PC. Just my 2c. but perhaps it's coming after getting so frustrated recently at Windows' obvious weaknesses.

How many seos know perfect linux? Thats answer why there never be version for linux.

What is the difference between internet server than on a desktop PC?
Hardware? Datacenters use same hardware as standard desktops and many of us use such servers.
Software? Xrumer, senuke, gsa, zennoposter - no difference between windows 2008 (server version) vs windows 7.

Very little difference between W2008 and W7 but then I was comparing linux on a server with W7 on a PC. As it is, one of my dedicated servers has CentOS 6, 32 core processing, 64GB of RAM with 2x500GB SSD's as the primaries and it absolutely flies because all of that capacity is actually usable. My PCs, on the other hand, are bogged down with the usual multiple levels of garbage loaded at startup and struggle with ever doing more than two things at once (even that's a stretch if they're processor-intensive). Windows, in any version, cannot do concurrency - it just flips very quickly between different processes - it's an absolutely rubbish choice for an internet server. Mac OSX is a step in the right direction and if I'd started with my iMac rather than PCs I'd never have used them, but even that has performance limits compared to CentOS and similar.

Agreed, no-one wants to use the linux command line unless they're a code nut, but there are linux GUIs around (Gnome, KDE etc.) and they're pretty good.

Not wanting to rant here, but Windows is inexcusably poor as an OS and following on from the original post, it's a shame product developers don't offer a greater choice of platforms as standard.
