So I've been doing IM for about two years now, mostly microniche MFA sites. Have been reading and researching BH marketing now for a few months, did an xRumer blast on one of my microniche MFA sites and had some good results. I'm not in love with the "spam" idea of xrumer but hey if it works who's to argue :-)

My question is about linkwheels. Will a linkwheel alone, say 7 spoke or 15 spoke help boost a website in SERPs or is it's main purpose to use tools like xrumer, scrapebox etc. to spam the hell out of the web 2.0 content to then pass juice to the money site? Tips & suggestions are very much appreciated.

Not to burst your bubbles but the traditional linkwheel is dead.

Consider moving to a link push concept.

This is why I'm asking because I don't know anything really about linkwheels except for the concept of how they're created. What is a link push? That is a new term/concept for me.

It's kinda of like a link wheel - just more natural.

Here's a cheap WSO on it:

Just for the record - I don't get any money from this. I'm not promoting it because it pays me in any way. I bought it to look at because it was cheap and wasn't a bad investment if you are unfamiliar with the topic.

So back to my original question is a link wheel/link push etc. concept for SERP boosting or is it more for providing a layer of protection to spam your URL indirectly?

Sorry, in hopes that you avoid a mistake I must have simply looked past the fact that this could have been answered in one word.

Yes. :o

In other words, it does both, help your SERP on it's own and especially after being enhanced by Xrumer induced PR increases. More people do it to further insulate and protect your main money pages from receiving a super-natural amount of little links then the SERP benefit of linkwheeling.
