Hey guys, all my sites are on the same ip class but have different domains and sub domains. Do you think its a total waste of time to cross link between them all?

The purpose of the link wheel or any advanced linking strategy is to build authority to your sites. The fastest and easiest way to do this by manipulating sites that Google already gives a lot of weight to.

So unless your sites have some good authority in Google's eyes, it probably won't do you to much good.

    I also agree with Yukinari84.

And those saying that it will get your site 'banned' are talking rubbish. It's quite normal for a webmaster to link to their own sites to show their network. That like saying you would get banned for linking your sub-domains to your homepage. It would have little effect, but wouldn't get you 'banned'.

I can see no benefit to this method, as opposed to other strategies on offer.

Are you serious? Try putting related domains on the same hosting account and linking them and see how long it will take before Google deindexes both of them.

No webmaster will link their own sites on the same ip together. You can link sites you CONTROL, that for sure, but not on the same ip. Put them on 5 different servers and link the hell of them.

Never talk about SEO in absolute terms because as soon as you say "if you do X then Y will happen", someone doing just that will tell you that you don't know what you're talking about. SEO is part art, part science and mostly wild ass speculation.

I'm interlinking 18 domains on a shared hosting account, spidered frequently and climbing in visitor count everyday for 3 months now. They're also all feeding a completely closed-loop linkwheel and, oh yeah, each domain is cloaked to redirect to an aff offer as well. I guess I could try to break a few more "rules" but I don't have Xrumer yet.

Could they all be de-indexed tomorrow...yep. Could I have them completely whitehat on 18 different IP's and still have them all de-indexed tomorrow...yep.
