I've noticed that when I run a backlink check on my keywords that virtually none of them are getting indexed in Google, while Yahoo has hundreds indexed. I am going up in rankings in Google roughly evenly with Yahoo and Bing however, so I am confused.

I've used pinging tools such as ping-tool and bulkping to try to get them indexed and have done a scrapebox blast of a few thousand to try to get them noticed by Google but NOTHING.

What should I do next, and what could be causing this?

Google doesn't index every single link, it's just the way G works.

But it hasn't indexed ANY of all my recent wheels, we're talking a TON of backlinks that it's not seen. Could there be a fixable reason or a way to get them indexed finally???

Also G will only show a tiny fraction of your backlinks with the link: command if that's what you're using.

However this highlights the importance of backlinking your shitty backlinks for indexing in Google. They won't index any old crap (although they will spider it) - you need to get enough link juice to your backlink pages to prove that they're worthy of being included in the index.

If your rankings are going up then you must be doing something right though.

Google is going to show hardly any at all of the links they have indexed/counted. They do this on purpose. Trust that if a third party tool shows them as being indexed/live then G has found them as G crawls more pages than anyone else! You can also tell by how you move around in search placement.

Basically what I'm saying is don't trust G to tell you what they know about you.

Be careful, lately Google has changed behavior. The days of massive serp movement is slowly come to an end. Build your links slowly and start with high PR links. Consistent links beats 2000 links overnight.

Google sees them, and they know it is not natural. Lately, if you outrank some sites with shady links or duplicate content, they will report your site to google.

Seo - the rules are changing, but only for the small guys.

That's the odd thing though, the 3rd party tools are the ones that show me as only having a handful of G backlinks, while they show that Yahoo and Bing found all of them and indexed them. Very odd...

Ye mate, im having the same problem, i have built about 2000 backlinks over the last month, built backlinks to those backlinks, used linklicious and pinged all links etc and Yahoo site explorer is steadily decreasing by about 100 links each week lol.....

Yeah it is a very odd problem.

Google very well may be giving me credit and juice for the backlinks, because I keep moving up in the search rankings for those keywords... BUT when I use any tool to list all my backlinks it shows almost nothing in Google's list and a ton for Bing and Yahoo.

I've come to the conclusion that Google abolutely MUST be giving me rank credit for those backlinks' keywords, but for some reason Google refuses to list said backlinks.

The tools I've tried for pulling a backlink list are Market Samurai, Cute Rank, Travis Traffic, and SerpAttacks. None of them show Google listing any of my backlinks, yet here I am, rising in rankings.

Don't bother wasting your time and checking links via Google.

I've been doing SEO for far too long and have checked backlinks only a few times, ever.

They simply don't show anything, and lets face it, why should they? That would promote your competitors to go out and build the same backlinks, thus actively promoting spam.

Use Yahoo to check backlinks, or tools like OpenSiteExplorer or MajesticSEO

Google doesn't follow some links, use another source to find out about your indexed backlinks.
But really doesn't matter about # of links, just build quality links and increase SERPs which is what matters in the end
