Just wondering when you guys are buying links from these sites, what kind of results do you expect?

Jump in SERP? or Trust value? My site is stuck on top of page 2 for all the keywords it should be on first page for.

Wondering if a link from lifehack will help or not.

Its for authority, if you manage to get link with exact keyword you may jump on page 1. But there is no 100% Guarantee here.

Plus you can use their logo "As seen on lifehack and all that shit"

The links need to be from relevant article to see a serp rise. Else it will only increase your TF to that page where the backlink comes to.

I haven't seen any major bump in rankings from these editorial links tbh.

Ok, here's the deal. These sites are expensive to get links on, yes. And no, usually you won't jump to #1 on a difficult keyword from just one $400 link.

BUT... they are FAR more powerful than any single PBN link you could ever buy. And they are HIGHLY trusted links by Google, so they are links that likely won't ever get you slapped and they won't likely get deindexed by Google like many links would.

You are paying extra for a sure thing. You are paying extra for a safer thing. You are paying extra for something that could pass a manual inspection. And in rare instances, if the topic is JUST perfect and they are written VERY well you could see a jolt of viral traffic.

That's the deal wit these links.

To answer your question, it really depends and here is why. Let's take 2 scenarios: Scenario #1 - say your brand, website, company, etc is simply mentioned and buried at the bottom of the article somewhere. Scenario #2 - say your brand, website, company , etc is the actual feature story of the article, meaning the story is about your brand, website, company , etc do you think you will have the same SEO result when you compare scenario #1 versus Scenario #2?

Here is another way to think about it, if your audience was to turn on their television would you rather get their attention as a 30 second TV commercial (i.e. scenario #1) or would you like to be the actual 30 - 60 minute show they are watching (scenario #2). Guest posts work the same way... Personally I only write Full Feature articles for my clients. Hope that helps :)

The article your link is located in must be niche-related for it to benefit you tremendously.

To jumpstart that process, I'd send @ messages on twitter to reporters/media outlet that ran similar stories in the past. If anything, they might get motivated to post an update to their story, hopefully with a link to the huffpo article your link is on.
