Linking All Your Websites = G-slap?

Has everyone experienced a G Slap or deindexing for putting links to all your other websites in the footer or blogroll of each other site. Basically just putting links to all your websites on ALL your websites......????


I dont see how big G could penalize websites for this as there are some HUGE companies out there with 100's of other websites that put links to all their other websites in their footers.

example:

http://www.popsugar.com/

They own 100's of other domains and 99% of them have the same DNS!!

Google surely doesnt penalize them!

Yet if I interlink all my websites google will slap me unless I use different DNS's for each website?

Thoughts?

google wont penalize you if you are not doing anything against the rules.
