so i have purchased domain names and hosting for 18 websites, 6 of them are now published each of them target a smaller niche within a bigger one o_O

    Main niche = Oranges
Sub-niches = Orange Juice, Orange slices , Orange for health, and so on..

i have started linking my websites togather, first with no-follow picture banner links.. visitor clicks a banner on my websites and gets redirected to another website that i own.. two days ago i have made an associates tab in the websites homepages footer containing a list of all my websites like this:

    Friend Websites :

    1. https://www.NicheWebOne.xom
    2. https://www.NicheWebTwo.xom

am i hurting my rankings or making them better??! i read that its ok to link all your sites togather but am not sure if G is going to consider this spam or not? your insights on the subject will be much appreciated homie, and Thank you in advance :)

PS : google traffic is my only source of traffic right now

If you are making legit websites this is good. If you're creating some sort of blog network full of shit content then no, because google will bury all of them at the same time. This isn't my expertise though so maybe get a few more people's opinions.

Everything is good until you get 18 Spam Manual Penalties..... Make a wise decision.

I have a colleague who always made 100k from 6 sites. One day Google chewed his a** raw without lube he got 6 penalties and the only site remaining was his wifes site "that he did not link". That moment when your paypal balance goes from 100k a month to 10k and dipping you know you in deep waters

It depends. If your sites are authority sites with masses of trust you can get away with it. If they're new and trying to gain trust, I wouldn't.

From my experience, footer links don't have that much SEO value anyway.
As long as the links are of a same or similar niche and you have high quality websites (not spammy, no spun content) linking them all together is a good move.
But as Bedbug pointed out: If for example you do BH SEO to your sites and have to fear penalties, don't link them, as you do not want to risk losing them all at once.

Mix it up, some footer, some side bar, some on certain pages.

I'm not saying it's bad strategy, but it's risky. Just like what @SeveredHead said, It will depend of your website quality

i don't like its quality , not doing on page seo except for optimizing the page titles and urls, the content is also optimized but has very low word count ( each page has 40 - 60 words meant to increase the pages CTR on google search pages ) .. my websites are -60+ days old and their average rank is 20 - 40 for dozens of keywords ( all targeted keywords are 1k or higher in search volume ).. i ranked and got traffic with this shitty onpage setup and no backlinks whatsoever till now

Dude, I would not do it.

You are building a PBN and you are using the same footer links?

    It's a bad idea.

You have to understand that Google is fast wising up to PBNs.

It's just a matter of time until they catch up to much of the "low-hanging fruit" tactics out there.

Don't make Google's job so much easier than it already is.

They key to proper PBN strategy is to make sure that your backlink footprint looks as natural as possible.

    This applies across the board.

We're talking about Google webmaster tools, Adsense, CPA ads, and any type of adscript on your site.

Your blogs have to look as dependent on each other as possible.

The footer links that you have mentioned flies squarely in the face of what I just said above.

sir.. first of all thank you sooooo much for taking the time and replying my thread, it really meant alot to me that you did ^_^

i have removed all the footer links from all of the websites last sunday.
i also checked the authority websites in my niches and found that #1 on google also has a pbn that consist only of new domains just like me [ the oldest domain name in his pbn is 11 months old .. and i tried to do exactly what he is doing.. he doesn't have any backlinks from domain names that he doesn't own and he is ranking with less than 20k backlinks from 12 unique IP's [ all of them he own, he didn't even change the theme for crying out loud ].. yeah the competition is quite low for the niche, anyways what i wanted to say is that he uses no-follow banner links to get traffic from one site to another and i did the same, will that hurt my websites? should i quit doing so? .. I forgot to mention that whenever i set up a new website i change the no-follow banner links to the new website so that it gets kick start traffic from my other domains

It would help your websites, but if one of them is hit for whatever reasons, be prepared to lose all.

With your description it appears that the supporting sites will host thin content, so my advise is don't link them in the footer of your MS.
